Yep. Would be nice to update 12.5HD.

Those who say it can't happen because of this, that, or the other, are probably saps who pay out the ass for expensive PITA subscriptions.

It can happen. Whether it does happen is not up to us unfortunately. However something like this would be a welcome change from the general cavalcade of mediocrity...

There's been nothing of note released since Accustica (and I hate that tech and those plugs) before that... it's been about 5 years since anything non mediocre has actually been cracked (softube/SSL/some PA). I don't blame the teams, I blame the devs and their pesky anti-piracy.

PT modern is the #1 dream for me and many others who visit here daily. Until then I still happily use 12.5 AU rock solid daily for all these years and will always CHOOSE to use that over any other DAW (I've tried them all and they're all crap vs PT HD/Ultimate esp with a 24 fader DCommand)

My only problem with ProTools is that it doesn't have scene recall like Studio One, Reaper and Mixbus.

I think they can do it (or maybe they have already done it). The question is: will they (R2R) keep it internal? I'll wait 'till next year, then I'll probably buy it.

We are waiting for pt 2024
R2R gives us pt as gift for new years maybe

Has it not occured to anyone that, if they had the knowledge or skill required to crack it that they would have done so by now, the last thing we saw was the R2R 2021.7 half crack as I call it and even that required a PT first license to even work, it's been almost 4 years since that came about and not even a peep, they can't even code a .dll for these newer version to allow legit users to use K'd plugins, so I wouldn't hold my breath on a new PT showing up on here.......sadly

I always think that maybe hackers have some kind of limitation when it comes to certain plugins or software. Like, maybe they actually buy them. It’s just a theory, though, and it could be totally wrong. We just have to wait and see what happens. Hackers have a lot of knowledge and could probably crack it, unless the first point is true, or they genuinely can’t break it.

But when R2R managed to crack the legit version in some way, it gives us a bit of hope. Even if they did something like the 2021.7 version but with an intro license, it’d still be great. I don’t even have that version—I’m stuck with 12.5, which is missing a bunch of features.

One last thing: Avid has seriously improved its security system since 2021. But at the end of the day, anything made by humans can also be broken by humans. That’s just the truth.

Here's a wild idea to consider, what if they actually work for Avid?....cracking other DAW's except for PT, think about it......PT is as far as I know the only DAW that is not fully cracked, so therefore if one wants PT they have to buy or subscribe to it, whereas the other DAW's are full working versions availible to download almost anywhere.....Giving Avid the market share of profits from sales.......just saying

Most DAWs like Cubase, FL Studio, or Ableton have cracked versions out there, but that doesn’t mean the companies behind them are involved. Cracking usually comes down to the security of the licensing system and how complex the software's protection is. Pro Tools uses the strict iLok system, which makes it harder to crack, but that doesn’t mean Avid is secretly playing in the cracking market.

The DAW market is super competitive, and every company is just trying to grab a bigger slice of the pie. If Avid were really doing something like this, they’d risk losing their reputation big time. Any leaks or exposure would completely damage their brand. Big companies like Steinberg, Ableton, and Image-Line have solid products, and competing with them requires innovation and marketing—not shady tactics.

At the end of the day, we just have to wait and see. Or maybe switch to other software.

That said, the legit version of Pro Tools doesn’t make sense for us who rely on cracked plugins. If it didn’t have that limitation, I wouldn’t wait for a crack—I’d buy it and enjoy it.

I don't think it's the case because think about it, if i was Avid and have crackers work for me i would allow PT to load cracked plugins so people would invest on buying even the Studio version as long they can use their "expensive" k'd plugins like Melodyne,FF and others, i'd buy PT if there was a way to load cracked plugins

Steinberg was cracked by R2R two years ago. R2R developed the Silk Emulator, which works like a legitimate license.
If you install the R2R Silk Emulator, you can access all Steinberg products with a single click, without having to wait for R2R to release them individually.
Remember, before Cubase got cracked, the only stable cracked version was Cubase 5. Up until version 12, no other versions worked properly—they were either full of bugs or never got cracked at all.

So, there’s still some hope, as long as they’re not limited for any reason or in any way. Beyond that... I really don’t know.

I think Cubase got k'd because they changed their security system to something simpler...

It doesn't make sense from one perspective because companies know if they lower security, their products will immediately get cracked.

The question is, why would Steinberg reduce security compared to before, making it easier to patch and crack? As companies move forward, they are expected to enhance security, not weaken it.

The reasoning that "the security system was changed and thus cracked" might have some validity, but it's not entirely accurate.

For instance, in 2016, the AU team cracked Pro Tools 12.5 in such a way that it's still functional, and many projects have been completed on it. At the time, security wasn't as advanced as in newer versions, but if a team wants to crack software, they can still manage it regardless.

Riddle me this Batman, I can't figure out why we never saw a full crack for the 2021.7 version of PT, all we ever seen was the workaround that required the First license, ask yourself "why did all progress on that version stop".....and why have we not seen anything since from any team?.....All these other Ilok products being K'd left and right but no PT........strange...

Exactly, I’ve always wondered the same thing. There’s definitely something going on behind the scenes that’s not public knowledge. I think there are certain limitations for crackers when it comes to working on stuff like this.

For now, I guess we just have to wait it out and keep moving forward with what we have. Personally, I’ve stopped using Pro Tools because version 12.5 lacks some features and feels pretty limited. I thought about buying a legit version, but then realized most of my plugins are cracked and patched, which means they don’t get recognized in a legal version of Pro Tools.

So, I dropped the idea and went back to Cubase, as usual. I’ve been a Cubase user for 14 years now, and while Pro Tools is amazing for post-production, I’m sticking with what works for me!

It's been a long time since anyone properly update a pirated version of Pro Tools! No one has hacked this DAW for years and it's still the standard for most studios... Looks like Avid has hired some good programmers to protect their new DAW...

yes true , im using 12.5 AU working great and generally still use in some studio's ( legit old version )
ProTools does not have many changes in the new versions
It can be said that there is no significant difference from the old version
And you can even still use the old versions

The reason Avid products are not commonly cracked is quite simple and straightforward. Just like Microsoft 365 (Office), Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Chrome, which have no serious competitors, if Pro Tools and Media Composer were frequently cracked, no one would choose the programs developed by Steinberg, Apple, Adobe, Blackmagic, Image-Line, Ableton, Magix, and countless other companies. This would ultimately lead to the bankruptcy of many of these companies.

Have to disagree with you on this, these other softwares are already cracked, yet legit customers still buy them, the only ones who would benefit from a cracked version of Pro Tools would be the 12.5 AU user base, the ones who have been using that version since way back in 2015, I can't see a new version hurting other companies sales if the user bases aren't interested in it, in reality the only ones who would suffer would be Avid themselves as they would lose legit users to the cracked version.......IMHO

it's not sense , because pro tools is post-production daw and is not enough for song writing and music arranging , it's only great for recording , cue system and mix and mastering workflow ( Post-Production )
so we can't say if the PT were cracked , We didn't need other software !!!! This sentence is completely ridiculous.
Cubase , Studio One , Logic are best DAW for Pre Production
Even Cubase , Studio One and Logic are enough for Recording and mixing
Large Studio's are use Pro Tools
Finally, I must say that these issues have nothing to do with not cracking and becoming a pro tools. The issue could be security and its application.
