Stellar Echo SD-201 faithfully recreates the unique character and nuance of vintage tape delay by introducing the same subtle pitch and timing variations and harmonic saturation found in tape regeneration. Echoes evolve in a very distinctive way and blend naturally into a mix.

In addition to authentically emulating the sound and functionality of the original hardware, Stellar Echo adds some additional features to the mix that enable producers to create effects impossible to achieve with the original:

Full stereo operation with ping-pong delay and adjustable Echo Width for more immersive effects.
Custom plate, chamber, and hall reverbs (in addition to the standard spring reverb) with adjustable decay time for creating unique ambient spaces.
Wow & Flutter slider, Dry Thru Slider, and Clean/Noise switches for enhanced tape emulation.
A 'Custom' mode that introduces a fourth playhead and gives users full control over output volume, stereo balance, and head position for greater tonal sculpting.

I'd love to add it to my 201 collection. Is that 7 or 8 now?

Still none of the ones i tried can replicate the realistic preamp saturation and echo feedback of UAD.

Looks like to sound really nice! The perpetual license is about 199! Overpriced!

Hopefully, this is allowed and might benefit some.

If you're not signed up for Slate's subscription, there are many alternatives to this available from other developers that are probably better, more affordable, and less tight on the perpetual licensing side of things.

Some of them are probably available here, too!

Roland's very own RE-201 Space Echo
AudioThing - Outer Space
Arturia - Delay TAPE-201
Black Rooster Audio - TD-201
Cherry Audio - Stardust 201 Tape Echo
GSI - GS-201
IK Multimedia - T-RackS Space Delay
UAD - Galaxy Tape Echo

Surreal Machines - Modnetic does not have the same visual aesthetic of the original Roland as most of the others above but it is mentioned a lot when the topic comes up and might be worth looking at,

I've probably missed some but surely this is enough to get you trialing and finding one you like !
