Edit Window Detachable Tabs
(Pro Tools Intro / Artist / Studio / Ultimate™)
A workflow enhancement which allows users to undock the elements from the Edit Window docked tab system and position them around the screen or keep them on a secondary display. This removes the workflow limitation of having only a single docked tab shown at a time and offers a better user experience when editing Clip Effects and Melodyne ARA.
Copy/Paste Between Pro Tools and Sibelius
(Pro Tools Intro / Artist / Studio / Ultimate™)
MIDI data can now be copied and pasted between Pro Tools and Sibelius. The workflow is supported in both directions.
From Pro Tools:
Copy a selection of MIDI clips to the clipboard
The payload will have all relevant MIDI information, including notes, pitch, note duration, timing/position in clip, all CC (Continuous Controllers) data across the clip(s)
It will include all MIDI data on the conductor track (time signature/meter, tempo, key signature)
Paste the MIDI directly into a staff within Sibelius Passage selection will only paste music (for the selected staves only)
If pasting into a Passage selection, you will only paste music (for the selected staves only)
If pasting into a System selection. You will paste music & Conductor track (includes all staves and the tempos, time sigs, etc.)
From Sibelius:
Copy music in a staff (or across several staves) to the clipboard
The clipboard will contain all relevant MIDI information, including notes, pitch, note duration, timing/position in clip, all CC (Continuous Controllers) data across the stave(s), and all MIDI on the conductor track/system stave (time signature/meter, tempo, key signature)
It will include all MIDI on the conductor track (time signature/meter, tempo, key signature)
Paste MIDI into selected Pro Tools tracks
NOTE: MIDI data relating to the conductor track will be ignored (time signature/meter, tempo, key signature)
Dolby Atmos Improvements
(Pro Tools Studio / Ultimate™)
Custom Live Re-Renders
Render additional copies of your Dolby Atmos mix and bus them back into your session for monitoring or printing delay compensated stems. Custom re-renders may contain the full Dolby Atmos mix or be filtered by groups.
Supported Formats:
Binaural, 2.0, 5.1, 7.1, 5.1.2, 5.1.4, 7.1.4 (Pro Tools Studio / Ultimate)
9.1.6 (Pro Tools Ultimate only)
Custom Bed Sub-Paths
Beds in the Dolby Atmos tab may now have custom sub-paths. This offers more flexibility and better compatibility with earlier Pro Tools sessions that utilized Dolby Atmos.
Additional ADM Metadata
Additional information is displayed about the WAV ADM BWF file in the Import Session Data Window.
Easier ADM Import
Pro Tools will now re-use any compatible paths when importing a WAV ADM BWF file. This reduces the amount of I/O Setup configuration needed after import.
Dolby Atmos renderer window is now translated for supported languages.
Custom Re-Renders Window is now re-sizable and allows for scrolling of the groups list when it becomes too large.
Dolby Atmos groups window now allows multi-selecting and deleting of groups in bulk.
Sketch Improvements
(Pro Tools Intro / Artist / Studio / Ultimate™)
Improvements to Drag and Drop between Sketch Window and Edit Window:
Sketch window mixer settings are now included when drag and dropping to the Edit window.
We now render MIDI as audio when clips are dragged from Pro Tools to a Sketch window audio track.
When saving a Sketch document into a Pro Tools Session folder, we now automatically pin it, so it will open when the Session is re-opened.
A new 'Main' section has been added to the Sketch mixer. It includes the main volume, a toggle for the output limiter, and a metronome volume control.
A length column has been added to the Media Browser.
Plugin Cache Improvements
(Pro Tools Intro / Artist / Studio / Ultimate™)
When two or more plugins require iLok authorization, Pro Tools will give the option to skip these plugins, greatly reducing the amount of click-thrus.
Pro Tools is now able to load new AAX plugins while running. When a new plugin is added to the Plug-Ins folder, Pro Tools will recognize the plugin and load it.
Video Engine Can Remain Disabled
(Pro Tools Studio / Ultimate™)
Pro Tools will no longer require the video engine to be enabled when opening a session containing video. This allows the system to save resources when picture does not need to be displayed.
