REQ: Type Writer Audio 10x Dynamic Imager
A dynamic image is essentially a continuation of the LCR thoughts developed in the 70’s. LCR became an art due to the limitation of panning on the analog console boards with three positions: left, center, and right. If you consider everything outside of the phantom center as the “sides,” then this a side amplifier that dynamically reacts to the sound entering the plugin.
You will notice as you extend the sides to a volume louder than the phantom center the perception of depth or dimension in your sound will collapse in on itself (at 10X). This plug-in can create a breathing side “image” or can collapse the sides into mono.
When the Hyperdrive is engaged the dynamic imager utilizes parallel channel Hass effect delays. The attack slider determines the left channel Hass time and release slider determines the right channel Hass time. The dual stereo delay channels are then panned between by LFO at the rate of the sum of the combined sliders.
This plug-in is best used to place sounds within the dimensions farthest from the mono down to the black hole within the mono center that gives your audio stability. Simply put, you can place stuff far away or up close within a unique digital space created by your music input. It is a step past reverb and delay in the sense of the X, Y, and Z axes of a good mix.
