Guys- If you read the post, you'll see that the dude is seeking out software to make his own touchscreen work like a Slate Raven. He wants features like Slate's batch control, fader control, and gesture control, for his own touch screen. He's not asking for hardware, but he is asking for software that only comes with the hardware.

In theory, yes, but the protection looks beyond heavy and there is more to a Raven than the buttons on the touch screen, so it would probably be less intuitive. The software already uses iLok, and it might not even work without the Raven plugged in. Steven Slate isn't known for being good to his customers when it comes to copy protection.

If you go to the Slate Media Technology site, there are two different things you install on a computer in order to use it with a Slate Raven. One is called "Batch Commander" and the other is called "Raven Software". Just to get the downloads, you need a Raven. So, this would be something difficult for anyone to get a hold of to even begin to crack.

For what it's worth, it seems infinitely simpler to look into software that doesn't involve hardware other than the touch screen itself. Simpler than that, it seems smart to look for a DAW that has touch screen support.

They are 2 add soft Touch-base Ltd: UPDD Deamon and UPDD TUIO who are doing the job for touch screen

Slate was broken recently, by r2r.
Raven is a software that will work on any multi-touch enabled monitor.
So, maybe, R2R will release this too, during the big wave.
