The Steinway Walnut Grand (extreme) contains up to 100 layers spread across 4 microphone perspectives. WIth up to 25 in each perspective, this extensive library also includes true crotchet, true staccato, release samples, picked muted strings, picked sustained strings, piano effects and performance sounds.
This is an extremely large grand piano sample library, with a diverse and useful range of Steinway piano sounds. As with all imperfect samples, natural performance elements are included, such as the sounds of the fingers touching the keys. Everything has been meticulously recorded by hand, with no robots or sampling machines. Imperfect Samples' hand-played sampling creates a realism rarely heard in piano samples.
Provided at full 24-bit audio fidelity, this grand piano sample library totals over 54GB of data, and is provided on its own hard disk.
This is essentially four distinct grand pianos in one package.
Mic Perspective 1: Player's position, for an organic warm sound
Mic Perspective 2: Directly inside the instrument, for a clean sound
Mic Perspective 3: Far from the piano for a wet "room" sound

Imperfect Samples' philosophy is to record naturally, as opposed to splicing elements together. Treat this instrument like a live piano; if you'd like a different sound, use EQ or change the mic perspective.
For added versatility and realism, and depending on your chosen version, the Steinway Walnut Grand contains patches with naturally recorded articulations:
Steinway Walnut Grand (up to 25 layers): Standard instrument intended for most uses
Steinway Fantasy Grand: Only pedal down samples for a highly resonant, 'full' sound
Steinway Staccato: Natural staccato articulations recorded in multiple layers
Steinway Crotchet: Natural 'long crotchet' articulations recorded in multiple layers
Steinway FX: Various piano effects, including Lid Sounds, Direct Strings Glissandos, Body Wood Knocks, and many more.
Unlike many sampled pianos, these articulations have not been spliced together, but instead recorded naturally. Whilst it's possible to use the standard Steinway Walnut Grand main patch for all your playing needs, these natural articulation patches are also included. For example, if you would like to perform a staccato-only passage, you may prefer to use the dedicated 'Steinway Staccato' patch as opposed to the main Steinway Walnut Grand patch. Whilst both patches can play very nice sounding staccatos, using the natural articulations will result in a true-to-life end result.
