The electric piano sound engine EP-1 first appeared in 2011 in KORG's flagship workstation synthesizer, KRONOS. It adopted the newly developed MDS (Multi-Dimensional Synthesis) technology which expresses smooth and dynamic tonal changes finely corresponding to key touch, something previous sample playback methods could not achieve. In 2017, it was featured in the top-tier Korg stage piano Grandstage, and in 2021, a new electric piano model was added to the NAUTILUS workstation. This plugin version now features the latest EP-1 sound engine and has received new voicing, making it the definitive Electric Piano sound engine.

Add some retro charm to your music with the iconic sound of this '70s electro-mechanical piano called the Pianet T.

The reeds in the Pianet T aren't struck, but instead are engaged by NASA-patented pink plastic suction pads that suck on the reeds until they snap loose and begin to vibrate. Small coils, similar to guitar pickups, then convert the vibrations into electrical sound. The intricate sounds produced by these coils comprise numerous sine waves. In the case of the Pianet T model, it occasionally necessitates the computation of over 100 sine waves to craft its distinct sound profile.

This is done level dependent and rather subtle; you probably won't be able to create heavy distortion effects with this plugin.

Was a great fun do this soundset because Aalto is unpredictable and powerful.
Sometimes I was having in mind one concrete sound, but patching one cable to the wrong place have unexpected and surprising effects!
Due to the architecture of this synth I decided to do a section of Machines and a section of Backgrounds, these to sections are very random and unpredictable.

The section of Percussions is full of Buchla like sounds, with innovative drums.


The soundset contains 83 patches with machines, random sounds, percussions and keyboads.
