The latest from Tronsonic for Kontakt 5.1.0 (full version) is the Kork M500 micro preset synthesizer. Tronsonic tried to get it as close (both visually and audibly) as possible to the original late 70s preset synth (as used by OMD on many records), and also added a few extra features like polyphony, expression and a tape compression and damage effect. In order to maintain the purity of the waveforms,they chose not to sample to tape (hence the 'tape fx' section), but used valves and a chain of nearly 100 year old interstage transformers to capture the audio.

Use it to boost the initial attack of various instruments, such as adding more crack to a snare or kick drum. Simultaneously, you can use Transector to alter the decaying portion of audio. Tkapik is an amplitude controlled generative sampler plugin. Add it to a track, then load a sound file and Tkapik will trigger the sample with random settings every time an amplitude peak is detected in the input signal. The sample can either be mixed with the input according to its amplitude envelope or completely replace the signal using the “solo” mode.

Don’t get fooled by the minimalist interface : being sample-based, Tkapik opens a wide array of sonic possibilities. You can use it to simply layer a kick drum with some field recordings or in a more extreme way to replace a whole part by a chaos of random drills and glitches. When the sample is triggered, its start offset, loop points and optionally pitch are randomized, giving you surprising results every time.
