The Pro Audio Files Ground Your Sound WAV FREE screenshot
22 OCTOBER 2016 | WAV | 280 MB
Ground Your Sound includes over 250 handcrafted sounds such as drum samples, loops, effects, transitions, but also impulse responses, reverb tails, synths, harmonies and more. All the samples were designed and recorded by Cristofer Odqvist – audio engineer, producer and composer based in Stockholm, Sweden.

Vintage analog synths, acoustic drum kits and drum machines (analog and abused digital ones) were used for this sample pack. Also, the samples were recorded through a Neve VR Legend 48 console and processed with vintage tape echos, tape machines, old plate reverbs, and high end analog outboard gear (plus some vintage digital hardware reverbs).

Lynda - Learning Music Notation TUTORiAL screenshot
P2P | Oct 21 2016 | 1.06 GB
Want to communicate your musical ideas in the most clear and compelling way? You need to learn music notation. Notation is the written language of music: the letters and words of sound. In this course, author Rick Schmunk explains the most fundamental topics in music notation, with the intention of showing musicians and songwriters what they need to know to read and write the language and notate their musical ideas correctly. It starts with notating pitch (clefs) and duration, including note lengths and rests. He moves into discussing flats, sharps, naturals, and key signatures, and the unique symbols for musical expression, including dynamics and articulations. He goes over notating chords and chord progressions, and the addition of vocals and lyrics. The course wraps with some score formatting tips and notation examples for piano, guitar, and drums, which pull together all the information into complete, publication-worthy pieces of sheet music.

Cinesamples African Marimba and Udu KONTAKT screenshot
FANTASTiC 20 October 2016 | 146 MB
The African Marimba and Udu is a collection of sampled African instruments recorded at the world famous MGM Scoring Stage at Sony Pictures Studios in Los Angeles.

The African Marimba contains mallet and stick hits recorded at varying dynamics with up to 5 round robins. This instrument features a new SOFT ATTACK slider that softens the onset of each note. The African Marimba also features a roll generator similar to that in the Dulcimer and Zither library. When the mod wheel is set to a value higher than 0, the patch plays a roll with dynamics controlled by the modwheel. This can be combined with the SOFT ATTACK feature to create interesting textures and pads.

Synthmorph Pluto Box FOR SYNTH1 Free screenshot
21 OCTOBER 2016 | SYNTH1 SOUNDSET | 15 MB
Synth1 Pluto Box is apack for Ichiro Toda's Synth1 free software synthesizer containing a full set of 127 presets and 10 fully crafted Syntmorph MIDI sequences.
The idea of Synth1 Pluto Box came from the love and work of my trusty Nord Rack 2x I have been using for years. Lately I became curious about its free software counterpart (Synth1 was modelled after the Nord Lead 2 synthesizer).
First I thought it would be a great idea to transfer some of the sound design concepts into the Synth1 so started experimenting into this direction. I realized that even though most of the things are common in the hardware NR2x and the software Synth1, some advanced concepts (like the velocity/morph) of Nord Rack 2x could not be achieved here.
