Essence is a collection of 175 presets for Bassline-101 by TAL. Consisting mainly of Sequences and Pads this collection attempts to explore this classic architecture to the full. The sequencer patches also use unique presets behind the sequencer which can be used by disabling the sequencer. Note that some of the sound demos use the free TAL Juno Chorus and some delay which is highly recommended with this synth.

There’s nothing quite like the roar and fire of a raging guitar valve amp… nothing that is, except a state-of-the-art, next-level emulation, and that’s exactly what you get with this month’s Computer Music magazine! We’ve teamed up with the distortion-obsessed developers at Mercuriall to bring you U530 CM, a jaw-droppingly realistic guitar amp simulator plugin in VST, AU and AAX formats, and based on the full commercial Tube Amp Ultra 530 plugin.

Just like the full thing, U530 CM is based on Engl’s versatile E530 preamp, with a twochannel design that can handle crystal-clear cleans, hard-rocking crunch, singing solos, and full-on high-gain distortion with ease. The plugin also includes a modelled valve power amp stage with presence control, lush stereo chorus, and a 4x12 cabinet simulator with adjustable mic position, dialled in using the graph-display or the individual sliders to set depth and position.

A collection of 75 Pads, Sequences, Arps as well as 27 unique Wavetables for the Dune 2 Virtual Synthesizer. All presets make good use of Aftertouch and the Modulation wheel for dynamic playing and additionally some presets also use the Pitch Wheel for further manipulation. As can be heard in the MP3 demos, the presets tended to be complex with plenty of scope and movement taking full advantage of the multilayer nature of Dune 2.

Gombulator is a free Kontakt instrument based on a rare portable synth from the early '80s. The Yamaha PSR-15 has six preset sounds plus a set of drums, all of which were meticulously sampled before arranging them into the twisted interface of Gombulator.

The instrument has been heavily used on Hungarian Synth Pop duo, The Gomb's album released on Chi-Recordings.
