KatFile is our New Primary File Storage screenshot
Following the announcement, decision has been made to replace Uploaded with KatFile.

This of course doesn't mean that you won't see UL links anymore - it is in uploaders interest to have UL mirrors and even if they don't - our mirror guys will.

All this means is that from now on, every post must have at least two download sources - RapidGator and KatFile.

Let half the world use zippy then!? :)
Where is zippy blocked btw?
Who blocks it? Zippy themselfs or stupid ISP's?

Hm.. Zippy seems to be the best choice for half the world:
- 100% Free
- No Download Limits (!!!!!!!!)
- Up to 500MB per File
- Unlimited Disk Space (!)
- No Sign Up Required

Sure, other advantages of zippy:
Faster to delete links
Even if not reported, files deleted after a time
File organization almost nonexistent.
FTP unsecured and slow

It's so fantastic that yourself have not used it in your own posts lol

Yea ..only tried it once :)

Btw, I got screwed by uploaded and they don't answer their support anymore.... are they going out of business?

I think everyone should be able to put up mirrors though, atleast after 48 hours or something like that...

Not to mention, it got banned in a certain country in Europe, so you only can download there with a VPN.

Yeah, only my confort... Even having a realdebrid account that supports Katfile and RG i'm "looking for my own confort".

I'm talking about ppl who can't afford those debrid services, that's why i said that. But go ahead and put any file hoster that you want on your website, looks like that doesn't matter what ppl suggest here anyway...

I'm amazed that he says it's 'only for your own comfort' when they've devised a system that gives uploaders and admins all they could ask for while showing so little care and concern for all the people that come here to download stuff. Where's the concern for their comfort? No voice for those people at all!

This seems audacious.

If uploaders don't have the tools to upload, what use will have those "super free" file hosting services?

I'm still waiting to see all these super sites used to create mirrors where mirrors are allowed.

You want to change things? Beging acting.

It seems he thinks uploading to filehosters is like torrenting. Whereas torrents are essentially people downloading things directly from a folder on your (and several others') computer. Meanwhile filehosting services require many more moving parts.

1. Have file on computer (If you're a big uploader or a mod/admin or a cleaner, you've got terabytes upon terabytes of storage probably costing thousands of dollars to keep all of this stuff so it can be reuploaded).
2. archive file using 7zip/winrar/etc
3. Upload file to filehoster (probably at much slower speeds than download).
4. Wait (sometimes several hours) for upload to be finished.
5. Copy links from filehoster.
6. Download images from official website for the post on AZ.
7. Copy link and product description from official website.
8. Create an entire post that adheres to AZ standards.
9. Get bitched at by members who point out extreme use cases where this or that link doesn't work in their part of the world or it's too slow.
10. Profit???

(I probably forgot a couple steps).

I just spent $700 to supply this site with some stuff (and it's not my first time supplying). The things that will be posted will be posted anonymously. I won't make a single cent off of anything that I've ever supplied. It'll get posted here, downloaded, copied, reuploaded somewhere else (probably someplace where the "uploaders" will make money off of it) and so many will still be here crying about not being able to get their links quickly and conveniently. And to that I say, wait for the entire process I've outlined above and then go to your favorite torrent site and grab it.

I also want to say that the stuff that I've supplied, I don't even use. I'm literally supplying it because R2R, RET, AiR, etc (waaaay too many to mention) have inspired me to give back to a community that I have personally taken A LOT from.

Sorry for the rant. There's a lot being done around here that the typical user will not even realize. They think everything surrounds someone making money while they're poor. Such a cynical POV.

You deserve thanks for supplying the site with "stuff" (whatever that means exactly....). Assuming, for the moment, it means files later shared here, you deserve to be thanked. I'm happy for you that you have the funds with which to do that. I surely wish that were true for everyone here.

You write very well. Well enough for someone to easily confuse that the rest of what you're saying is so odd I actually wondered if it was intended as satire...

You seriously want to argue what a tough job uploaders have, and then use as examples copying a jpeg from a website? Archiving files with winrar? Not just 'creating a post to AZ standards', but rather, creating an ENTIRE (!!!) post? lol, now that we're talking ENTIRE my sympathy is greatly magnified

I dunno, I copy jpegs from webpages all the time in under 2 seconds, plan archiving large time-consuming files when I'm leaving the house for an hour or 2, and for people here who've uploaded hundreds of files I don't think creating an ENTIRE post is that much of a sweat. I'm sure by now they must have templates they regularly use. You must have had some of the breeziest jobs ever to land in a space where you think these tasks constitute terrible hardship. Mind you, I do think its some work for these folks, and I do see concerns over legal risks which I'm surprised you didn't think of mentioning, but these particulars that you assert to suggest sweaty brows on their part is just plain silliness. And let's be clear... the uploaders here have chosen to earn money this way. No one forced them to do it.

quote by FunkyRocemzThey think everything surrounds someone making money while they're poor.

All of the above pales in comparison though to the insulting nature of this line I've quoted here. I think uploaders focused on a profit motive is bad because I've always held high the premise that making money off of warez is a bad thing. Over the course of time plenty of release groups, not uploaders, have firmly stated their agreement with that position. For example, R2R has made such statements quite strongly. Poverty was only discussed because for some, like myself, who went thru lengthy periods of unemployment due to the pandemic, being elbowed into buying premium or debrid accounts now is a bitter pill to swallow, one they can't manage without difficulty. I'd appreciate it if you didn't twist those earlier remarks around, just to get insulting with those who, based on what you've said, are less well off than you and that you happen to disagree with. Sadly, I'm left with the impression you're the only one here being cynical.

@cuny

More well off, you say... You've no idea what you're talking about. Cash wasn't used to supply these things and let's just leave it at that.

My post was to highlight the trouble that all the people who work to make this site great, go through. It's much more than just pressing "download." Perhaps, and I can only speak for myself, they'd like some understanding as to what decisions they make when they've never asked anything of you. Not a single thing. They're the ones going through all the trouble to make things available for you. Even if it's as little of a thing as copying jpegs. It's more than you've done here and for no profit to themselves. To state anything other than that implies you have inside knowledge of the goings-on here.

Try to understand that at the very least.

There is considerable effort that goes into providing this "stuff." Don't bring your own personal hardships onto this site. It's not the place for it. And this site doesn't revolve around any one person. It's a community of people doing selfless things just for the hell of it. It's why there has to be 2 free download options for all posts.

That's my view. It's why I may come off as a little passionate. I don't mean to sound demeaning but all of the negative comments here are from people suffering from a lack of personal convenience.

"Oh, its so easy for you uploaders and site-owners, why won't you think of me?! Me, personally who can't use this filehoster or that debrid service for free?? Won't anyone think of me??!!!" That's what the negative comments sound like. Most anyone here who can't use rapid/katfile (of which I can't use the latter and I actually like uploaded because it just works, for me), are visitors of many other warez sites. If katfile/rapid is such a hassle, then there are other options and you most certainly know that. Regardless of what you think is easy or hard for uploaders, you have options. Why not exercise those options instead of making a big stink here about what the people who DO things are doing?

Even if I were more well off than most, as you seem to think, at least it's being put to good use. Providing some bit of solace and relief during trying times for poor artists. No one is asking for your sympathy. Just understanding.

Lastly, you're not really offering up solutions to the decision that's been made. You're offering up alternatives. Why not suggest a place on this site where people who have premium filehosting accounts gift them to other users? I remember when I got premium up.to years ago, they'd give you a token to redeem a free month of premium. Something like that could benefit quite a few users here. Maybe someone like me, who is more well off, would donate some premium accounts to users at random. That, coupled with a reliable VPN service should solve all your convenience issues and the uploaders can have the filehosters that they'd like to use as well.

I see so many of your remarks as erroneous that it would be pointless to continue refuting all of them at length, and in the way they deserve. It will just take up more space on this thread. I'm sure those in charge here are probably already less than thrilled with the back and forth.

Briefly, had you read my posts here you'd know "convenience" is not in any way shape or form the issue raised. Further, the only reason personal hardship came up was due to Smoove Groove's suggestion that our having debrid accounts somehow indicated I and others must have it 'easy'. Nor is it your place, as far as I know, to lay down some law about bringing "personal hardship" here or anywhere else for that matter. Who made you the law around here? I didn't catch that one on the site rules. Besides, over time I've seen any number of people here discuss personal challenges and no one chastised them over it. Still further, making distinctions between "solutions" and "alternatives" is pointless when an alternative can easily become a solution for the matters at hand.

Anyway, I could go on but why bother? Once you made your smarmy, insensitive remark, "They think everything surrounds someone making money while they're poor", any conversation between us was pretty much done. That told me more about who and what you are than I'll ever need to know.

Bye!

No, I didn't say that.
I said it is a "bonus" on top of the hosters you have already.
And no; YOU brought up your personal hardship. Not me.
To base your points on any debridder is pointless, imo.
And I also said you may want to focus on rent money and a job instead of warez.

You are not being "elbowed" into anything, other than to learn to be more patient with downloading. Only your own mind creates theses apparent problems and any "elbowing".
Poverty was discussed, and ignored by you.
I think your priorities should be rent money and work. Not warez.

Thank you @FunkyRocemz for speaking sense and truth.

Not being elbowed??? Let's get down to facts instead of your constant desire to parry with me here while you spew nonsense....

Yesterday Voices of Soul was released, a 12 gb file, 15 parts. Files that size have become fairly common nowadays. Due to problems with Real Debrid and Rapidgator yesterday I had to grab links elsewhere, but the fundamentals remain the same.

On premium UL links it took roughly 23 minutes to download the 15 parts. FYI, I was getting about 20 mb/s download speed on a 300 mb up/300 mb down internet connection with VPN on.

Using free UL or RG links, not premium, I'm never able to get greater than 100 kb/s download speed. Using an internet download calculator, at that speed it would take 32.5 hours for that download, IF you could consecutively download each part with no wait time ... that's a big if because we all know RG and UL can make you wait an hour or more to get the next part of a file. So you can add another 14 hours to your download experience for a total of 46.5 hours to download that file.

These are facts, not opinion. This is what you get when alternative links are blocked and you don't have a premium acct. Are you seriously telling people here that a choice between paying up and downloading a file in 23 minutes or downloading it in 46 hours is really a choice? Seriously?

BTW, before you say it, I understand there are some workarounds people use to not take quite that much time. But in the end, those workarounds don't change the real point, which is that when you offer only slow links and no alternative links allowed, obtaining these files is no longer a reasonable proposition for anyone. I know that, the admins know that, and maybe even you know that. Having no real choice is getting elbowed into buying a premium acct.

Finally, I wish to make this point to you sir and I hope you will hear it loud and clear...... I've never asked your opinion on what you think my life priorities should be. I don't value in any way at all your thoughts on that. Nor did I discuss my financial position, not for one single moment, in the hopes you would be my life coach :) Please keep it to yourself, what I do with my life is none of your business. I don't tell you what to do with yours, please don't tell me what to do with mine.

You're "sure" of nothing, and this statement just proves how very little you really know.
The uploading layout page IS the template.
It would take longer to copy/paste to somewhere else and add [Thumb] before a picture, etc...
Oh wait, we couldn't do that with pictures anyway, only words!
And it would still take longer than direct into the upload template that exists here.
quote by cuny. Having no real choice is getting elbowed into buying a premium

Which again, as I said, would be YOUR CHOICE!
