FANTASTiC | 24 March 2024 | 38 MB
Hey there! I'm happy to share my latest track with you. It was a fun and creative process using Bitwig Studio, where I tried out some cool generative techniques and played around with grids for notes and sounds. The bassline was a lot of fun to work on too, as I experimented with multiple arpeggiators to create alternating sequences. I also used Bitwig 5's global modulators to help shape the arrangement on the spot.

Simply Blues Fingerstyle Guitar: Play Great Fingerstyle Blues screenshot
English | 2017 | ASIN: B06XWH32WT | 53 pages | AZW3/PDF/EPUB (conv) | 8.5 MB
Fingerstyle guitar is one of the most popular and satisfying ways of playing. Use the thumb and fingers to open up the range of sounds that the guitar can produce, and you're really flying. This is especially so when playing the blues. You can have a neat bass line while still picking away on a melody in the many different blues styles out there. I've been playing this style for many years and it is certainly one of my favourite ways of either arranging or performing. In this collection, I've put together a few of the blues tunes that I've arranged or written. They're all open to improvisation and you should experiment with the styles.
All the 18 tunes are supported by audio and some video when available. So, put on your blues shoes and let's get picking. Enjoy!

Shake It Up: Great American Writing on Rock and Pop from Elvis to Jay Z: A Library of America Special Publication screenshot
English | 2017 | ISBN: 1598535315 | 580 pages | 4 MB
THE ESSENTIAL PLAYLIST OF GREAT WRITING ABOUT THE MUSIC THAT ROCKED AMERICA

Jonathan Lethem and Kevin Dettmar's Shake It Up invites the reader into the tumult and excitement of the rock revolution through fifty landmark pieces by a supergroup of writers on rock in all its variety, from heavy metal to disco, punk to hip-hop. Stanley Booth describes a recording session with Otis Redding; Ellen Willis traces the meteoric career of Janis Joplin; Ellen Sander recalls the chaotic world of Led Zeppelin on tour; Nick Tosches etches a portrait of the young Jerry Lee Lewis; Eve Babitz remembers Jim Morrison. Alongside are Lenny Kaye on acapella and Greg Tate on hip-hop, Vince Aletti on disco and Gerald Early on Motown; Robert Christgau on Prince, Nelson George on Marvin Gaye, Luc Sante on Bob Dylan, Hilton Als on Michael Jackson, Anthony DeCurtis on the Rolling Stones, Kelefa Sanneh on Jay Z. The story this anthology tells is a ongoing one: “it’s too early,” editors Jonathan Lethem and Kevin Dettmar note, “for canon formation in a field so marvelously volatile—a volatility that mirrors, still, that of pop music itself, which remains smokestack lightning. The writing here attempts to catch some in a bottle.”

Chopin: The Piano Concertos by John Rink screenshot
English | Publisher: Cambridge University Press, 2003 | 149 Pages | PDF | 5 MB
Chopin's E minor and F minor Piano Concertos played a vital role in his career as a composer-pianist. Praised for their originality and genius when he performed them, the concertos later attracted censure for ostensible weaknesses in form, development and orchestration. They also suffered at the hands of editors and performers, all the while remaining enormously popular. This handbook re-evaluates the concertos against the traditions that shaped them so that their many outstanding qualities can be fully appreciated.

English | Publisher: Oxford University Press, 2008 | 200 Pages | PDF | 6 MB
Camille Saint–Saëns is a memorable figure not only for his successes as a composer of choral and orchestral works, and the eternally popular opera Samson et Dalila, but also because he was a keen observer of the musical culture in which he lived. A composer of vast intelligence and erudition, Saint–Saëns was at the same time one of the foremost writers on music in his day. From Wagner, Liszt and Debussy to Milhaud and Stravinsky, Saint–Saëns was at the center of the elite musical and cultural fin de siecle and early 20th Century world.

This comprehensive overview of music in the nineteenth century draws on the most recent scholarship in the field. It avoids mere repertory surveys, focusing instead on issues which illuminate the subject in novel and interesting ways. The book is divided into two parts (1800–1850 and 1850–1900), each of which approaches the major repertory of the period by way of essays investigating the intellectual and socio-political history of the time.
