The Yamaha RX-17 is an obscure drum machine made in the eighties when Duran Duran was the biggest band in the world and Micheal Jackson was still alive. Made in 1987, the RX-17 has drum sounds highly influenced by the era it was released. Containing a grand total of 26 sounds, the RX-17 combines a standard acoustic drum set with an additional latin drum sound set. It could be seen as the bastard child of the Yamaha RX-21 and the RX-21L (for "Latin"), but the sounds are not exactly the same. For instance, while the kicks are identical, the snare of the RX-17 has an electronic vibe to it not found on the RX-21 and the toms are completely different. Furthermore, their overall quality is better, mostly because they are 12-bit samples instead of 8-bit.

sing the magic of phase alignment, we tried to answer the curious question of what would happen if you align samples grabbed from different instruments.

And with the excellent samples of FlameStudios, FreePats, Patch Arena and bigcat Instruments, we present this one of a kind amalgamation of five different instruments squashed into a bass and a guitar. Well, sort of. Whatever, the outcome is, it is called the Ambiguous Guitar Duo.

GranuLab is a granular resampler with some fun control options. All changes are gradual over time, so it's suitable both for long drones and for trashing a drum loop.
Sound is created by playing back many small sound clips, "grains". Each grain is a mini-sampler with fixed settings that plays a part of the sound once and then disappears.
