Signature presents Ascend, composed by the talented artist and musician Alan Wilkins along with returning collaborator and composer Marcus Myers. This release is inspired by the spiritual jazz movement and prominent albums like John Coltrane’s “A Love Supreme.”

Spiritual jazz is a subgenre that blends jazz with elements of spirituality, often reflecting deep emotional and philosophical themes. One of its most iconic works is John Coltrane’s A Love Supreme, a powerful expression of his spiritual awakening and dedication to a higher power. Released in 1965, the album features Coltrane's intense improvisation and complex harmonies, creating a transcendent sound that resonates with both personal and universal themes of faith, love, and redemption. A Love Supreme remains a cornerstone of spiritual jazz, influencing generations of musicians and listeners with its profound depth and soul-stirring energy.

This release contains loops and instrument stems from an in-studio recording of acoustic piano, saxophone, acoustic bass and drums. These jazz loops and songstarters bring the essence of deeply emotional and musical sounds to your tracks. Inside of this release you will also find one-shots and jazz drum breaks for all things beat making, recorded at Turtle Studios in South Philadelphia.
Alan C. Wilkins is a multi-talented saxophonist, pianist and composer, who studied at the University of the Arts, in Philadelphia. He has released projects and leads “The Wilkins' Trio.” Beyond his artistry, Alan is a dedicated educator in Trenton Public Schools, where he inspires and mentors students. His career extends to freelance music, performing with notable artists and contributing to bands like Brassanity Hornz. On this pack he is accompanied by Marcus Myers (drums), Brandon Young (piano) and Sandy Eldred (bass).
