This sampling is part of the Microphone Locker Series. These presets need to be combined with my various preamps to really shine. They sound harsh on their own as I used very transparent tools to sample them, but plug them ‘virtually’ into one of my preamps to get them to sound right. A bright mic needs a soft preamp like the E-M-EYE and a smoother mic like the ribbons I offer need perhaps the brighter pres like the TCS ( API ). Up to you to experiment but that is why having the full array of my preamps can turn this collection into a powerful sound sculpting arsenal. Sampled with ‘Prismsound Orpheus’ precision you will not be disappointed. Provided in 192 khz, 96 khz and 44.1 khz. 6 presets. Library size is 184 MB. 10 distortion kernels. 2 distances. Please note that these require a fully licensed Nebula Pro license to enjoy.

A spring reverb is a system to obtain artificial reverberation invented during the 40's by Laurens Hammond (also inventor of the Hammond Organ). In a Spring Reverb pan, the audio signal is coupled to one end of the spring by a transducer (a device that can convert electrical energy into mechanical energy or viceversa). This creates waves that propagate through the spring in both directions. At the other end of the spring there is another transducer that converts the motion in the spring into an electrical signal, which is then amplified and added to the dry sound. Most spring reverb units use several springs together, with each spring having its own characteristics (length, dimensions, tension, etc.) resulting in a natural reverberation by summing several delayed sounds at fixed or random intervals. However, with real spring reverbs the user isn't allowed to change these characteristics

Propanium (aka MILLTONE) is a highly emotive, metal based, tongue drum. The drum has certain similarities to the Hang Drum, but is more clean, less “steel-drummy”, has more harmonics and overtones. We recorded Propanium in a variety of ways including finger, brushes, mallet articulations and tons of effects. The drum follows our “deep-sampling” methodology and the larger patches generally have approx. 10 velocity layers and 6-8 round robin (repetition) pr. layer, however certain patches (ex. overtone patches) have over 35 velocity layers for maximum playability.

The Slaves of West and Central African origin are considered to be the origin of the Cajon drum, which is essentially a wooden box with a thin sheet of wood nailed on as the sixth side acting as the striking surface. The Cajon is a highly featured instrument in Cuban music, which also traditionally contains the bongo. The Bongo was also brought from Africa to Cuba by the slaves and both are often featured in salsa, rumba, changui and other traditional styles. The modern adaptation of the Cajon is often found in Spanish flamenco music, however this is a relatively new introduction. The Cajon was introduced by the flamenco master, Paco De Lucia during the 1970s and is now a common instrument in Spanish guitar music.
