At the beginning of the 18th century in Paris, Nicholas Blanchet, and his son Francois Etienne, the leading makers of the time, switched the method of making Cembalo/Harpsichords from that of the Ruckers family (celebrated Flemish makers of the 17th century) to their original method, producing an instrument with much lighter tone quality, strong in projection and rich in overtones.

Tronsonic has announced a new set of DCO oscillators for Tronto, the vintage polysynth sound library for Native Instruments Kontakt.
The word ‘precision’ is used for two reasons – firstly the digitally controlled oscillators of the original analogue synth maintain a very accurate tuning, and secondly because no tape was used in the recordings of these waveforms, which in turn keeps them very true and precise to the originals (allowing a less characterful and more ‘scientific’ synthesis to take place within Kontakt).

The oscillators, filters and envelopes closely model components found in some of the great monophonic and polyphonic synthesizers of yesteryear. Modules can be mixed and matched so you can build hybrids, but what sets DIVA apart is the sheer authenticity of the analogue sound. This comes at the cost of quite a high CPU-hit, but we think it was worth it: Diva is the first native software synth that applies methods from industrial circuit simulators (e.g. PSpice) in realtime. The behaviour of zero-delay-feedback filters when pushed to the limit clearly demonstrates the advantages of this groundbreaking approach.
