The first part of this video set is brilliant giving the viewer a brand new way of ordering the alphabet notes without sharps or flats that gives you instant access to naming the natural base letters of any chord. That is 3 note cords, 7ths, 9ths, 11ths, 13ths. This part was fantastic and made this base naming a snap! But then the series falls down by not giving you a method to put in the appropriate #'s and b's with any method other than memorizing the circle of 4ths and 5ths. The last video says "let's move on to the next video" but there is no next video and the website does not list one either. Looks like he did not finish the course. Weird. And frustrating.

He starts going wrong when he says that:
"Most modern music is centered on harmony or chords"

Harmony is one thing completely different of chords, within the harmony there are chords.

But, after the popular encryption method to build chords, using German note names from A to G as symbols, everything changed. Today, there are pop books with written chords symbols ready in the score, so the amateur does not need to think. But the study of harmony is much more extensive.

Virtually all the music we know and hear every day has the same harmony as the base, Baroque, Classical, Jazz, Samba or Rock, harmony is the same, but the exception are the Modal Music, Ficta Music, the Atonality Serial Dodecaphonism of Schoenberg, Pierre Boulez Integral Serialism and Electronic Music of Pierre Schaeffer. The rest all about 95% are based on the whole same old harmony.

What does he mean by "modern music"? Remember, Beethoven and Stravinsky had been modern.

Believe, It is quite easier to study hard along four short years of your life, to resolve what you will use for the rest of your life, of course if you want to be a musician.

Although, always welcome, people like him that create methods or maybe small systems to talk about music, who knows appears again another major contributor as "John Forbes Nash".

But, he made a "method" not a system. Take care with words.
