Artie Traum - Essential Riffs For Guitar screenshot

Here’s a lesson that’s packed with dozens of time-tested musical phrases that will help you become a strong lead guitarist. Even beginners will be able to start playing hot licks over blues changes. As the phrases get more advanced, you’ll start to use slides, bends, hammer-ons, pull-offs and other techniques to increase your speed and dexterity.
Each riff is played slowly and then at speed to give you a feel for how it sounds in context. Jeff Pevar (currently playing guitar with David Crosby) joins Artie to demonstrate how two players jamming together would use these lead lines in blues progressions.

Once you’ve got the basics down, you’ll learn to put several riffs together to create a complete blues solo. A demonstration of minor key jazz-blues phrases will round out your repertoire of licks and will allow you to create hot solos or jam on blues changes with your friends.

This lesson will be of value both to beginners who want to get a jump on lead guitar as well as intermediate players who want to increase their knowledge of the fingerboard.
