does anyone know where you can get that skin he is using for Sylenth? I think it is one from Scott Kane but I have no idea where to get it.

coconut8,
Seriously? someone would have to be nut to just weight on your comment to decide on downloading this file. All you let off is a straight bloat of your own opinion, not a fact. If Avicii is "less than average" than every other DJ/Producer in today's EDM market are just as bad because there's nothing they are doin' that Avicii can't do or not already doin'. For a guy whom in such a short time, have become a household name in the game with a heavy hands of hits, I'd surely not consider him a "less than average". "Levels", "Fade Into Darkness", "Seek Bromance", "Penguin", "Street Dancer", "Collide" are well produced and receive tremendous support from the heavyweight in EDM. FuturMusic videos don't do any producers who appear in their series any justice because they are poorly edited and packaged; In most cases, people expect to see full tutorials from a teacher, which is not the objective of these videos. They are more a way to get a glimpse into these guys studios, their workflow and a few tricks here and there. Everybody gonna have their criticism based on their expectation, I feel Avicii has proven a great amount of what he can do in terms of production throughout the tracks and remixes he has been releasing lately.
But hey, it's your opinion and you can keep it, I'll just beg to differ.

@dadarkman

no prob, I didn't meant to offend him, you or anybody who loves his work. I just think that music is much wider territory than this popular EDM producers today show with their work. There is no distinction between lot of producers because their music is made for little kids with little or no music background at all.

So, again sorry if I offend you, peace mate!

coconut8,
I hear you, coconut. In all, one thing we gotta remind ourselves: music production is ideas being pour into a few analog and/or electronic equipment, shake them all and make something out of it. And, yes... it can be the simpliest idea. One person gonna hate it to death and another gonna think it's the sh*t. No book on earth says that music has to be a rocket science thing, that fifteen thousands chords has to be played and 2000 hours have to be spent in one track. I understand that you may feel that their work doesn't deserve that much of coverage but I'm on the other side of the table. One, cause I enjoy Dance music for what it is and two, cause I'm also producing EDM type of music. I DJ 4 times a week, playing EDM. So, yeah, I'm part of the movement (and, one day, I'll want coverage too :-)).
I understand your point that it seems easy, it looks easy but that's EDM from the start. From when it used to be primarily called House, the Frankie Knuckles, Little Louie Vega, Marshall Jefferson, etc... it never was a complicated sort of music. However, everybody following the scene can agree that as simple it remains throughout the years, today's EDM also has grown to include more melodies and becoming more rhythmic and a little less repetitive than 90's House. There are guys in EDM who are smart brains, have deep knowledge of Synthesis and actually design sound, guys like Bt, Morgan Page, Morillo, Deadmau5, Richie Hawtin, etc...

At the same time, isn't that there's always a problem with a genre of music in almost every generation? a lot of people in the 40's use to think that Doo-Wop was too simple? 50's about Rock 'n Roll, the rhythm in almost all of the songs were either the same or copied? 60's complaint about Ska's bass lines, which end up after all becoming the great worldwide force known now as Reggae? 70's Disco was too redundant even with full live production of live bands, people still thought it was not good enough? 90's to present Hip-Hop, the ever-going sampling argument, is it really music, and so on...? Even Jazz as great a genre it is, still have some who just can't find a way to accept it as is. And, of course EDM, which no matter what the negative criticism are, have strive in its own right and still surviving almost 4 decades after. Pop music? that genre takes so many bullets, forget about it, lol.

I do agree that music is wider than EDM, of course. I listen and collect all kinds of music. It just so happen that the EDM genre is at its highest peak level right now and it sort of enjoying the limelight (I say sort of because it still a bit behind and underground in the U.S. compare to Europe). If you are looking for inside scoop on other genre that you enjoy more than EDM, well... you may have to skip FutureMusic almost altogether, cause that's what they focus on more.

Well, no hard feelings, bro... just a quick debate. Enjoy the weekend :-)
