The King’s Piano Course was designed to take you from being a complete beginner who knows absolutely nothing about music, to an intermediate level of music theory and technique so you can play songs by ear and write your own music ALL WITHOUT READING STANDARD MUSIC NOTATION
You are about to embark on a musical journey that will guide you through the intricacies of the piano, music theory, and playing music by ear. If you desire to learn how to play songs just by listening to them, master how notes fit together, and create your own music, then this course is for you!
I taught music lessons for years, and every now and then I would get a student that wanted to learn to play piano by ear. Being classically trained on the violin and piano, I intuitively developed my own method of learning the songs I heard on the radio by trial and error. I combined what I had learned in my classical training with my love of rock and roll to learn the songs that I actually listened to, not the classical stuff that was being taught to me!
Through years of tweaking and perfecting this method, I developed the ability to sit down at a piano and play a song after listening to it for just a few minutes. I’ve mapped out the method I use everyday and have created this step-by-step guide that will teach you to do this for yourself!
The King’s Piano Course will take you through 8 Modules with 8 Lessons each. The lessons will increase in difficulty as you progress through the course, and each module builds upon information learned in previous modules. If you skip ahead, you may not know what is going on, as each lesson contains vital content to get you to learn and understand this amazing instrument! Even if you know some of the information already, I may present it in a new way that gets you to understand it better, or think about it in a new and different context.
