String Training - Part 01 of 06 with Kelly Valleau (2016) screenshot
P2P | Nov 19 2016 | 11 GB
Kelly Valleau was born and raised in Belleville, Ontario and started playing guitar at 15. He was in a hard rock band at 17, got ripped off by a club owner when he was 19, and by 21 had made his first indie cd. By 22 He was playing professionally in and around Ontario, Quebec and New York. Kelly hung up the electric guitar a few years back and grabbed the nylon string acoustic guitar. Why? "well, on a whim, I entered the Canadian fingerstyle guitar championship…to my suprise I placed second at this international competition. It landed me a record deal with Candyrat Records, I haven't looked back since."

Kelly Valleau, the self-taught virtuoso fingerstyle acoustic guitar player who hails from Canada has made a living wowing listeners with his phenomenal technical skills as a fingerstyle guitarist. He transports listeners from a thunderous crescendo of complex rhythm work interlaced with equally impressive lead skills to some of the most delicate displays of impressive fingerwork ever seen. His technique can go from compact to mind-bending with his use of his finger-picking, strumming, lead work, interspersed with solid rhythm punctuated by his command of beat-tap (a technique used by acoustic guitar players which consists of a series of light tappings that basically transform the acoustic guitar into a percussive instrument).

He runs a website at kellyvalleau where students can learn (or at least attempt to learn) this technical skill with this use of videos and tabluature worksheets he has put together which slowly increase the student in skill level from 1 to as many as 6 levels.

He no longer accepts students. Many wonder why? This seems kind of unfair. Why should potential students, who number in the millions if Youtube statistics are to be trusted, be denied access to a man with such an awe-inspiring gift.
