Only to get Cthulhu working into a daw is complicated... It's always a patching headache .
Not because of Cthulhu, but because any arpegiator is difficult to patch in most daws.

1- In FL you have to open the "VST wrapper settings" of Cthulhu and of the vsti of your choice. You find this on the top of the plugin GUI, it's a symbol with a cogwheel and a plug.
2- Then select the same midi port (depends on your config, but basically you can choose any number, it just has to be the same for the two) : "midi output port" for Cthulhu, and "midi input port" for your synth.
3- Select the Cthulhu channel and record what you're playing with "record Notes and automation" (you can also draw directly in the piano roll).

route the cthulhu as well as your synth to a same midi channel (option in setting of the fruity wrapper which wraps every plugin when loading)
