If you are looking to do something big in the music business, something great, getting your head around the big picture is one of the most important elements of success. It's not about marketing and promotion, how to make records, how to book a tour, or how to manage your social media. Those are all important pieces of the puzzle if you want to be successful. But it's been Steve Rennie's experience—from working in the music biz over 36 years—that if you can understand how the music business works, what's really important, then the rest of the pieces will fall in line.

This course kicks off An Insider's Guide to Today's Music Biz, a series of 9 courses designed to teach the ins and outs of the music business to bands, managers, and songwriters. Here, Steve provides tips on assessing your talent, committing to a plan, picking partners, figuring out financials, finding ideas, and surviving in what can be a tough business. Steve's experience, and his honest take on the ups and downs of the industry, will help anyone interested in breaking through be better prepared for the realities of getting by in the music biz.

Nobody can really "teach" you the music industry. Some people may have different experiences to another. If you work 9 to 5 in the office of a publisher that's going to be totally removed from being a sound engineer in a studio. Anyway, you'll never know until you're actually in the music biz, and it never hurts to be prepared. It's a roller coaster ride full of dark twisted tunnels and shady people that you wished you'd never dealt with.... and that's just the good side!!

When I started watching this video, It did not bring me confidence, because the camera editing is bad, he can barely look at the camera, but I insisted and began to have surprises.
This guy knows very well what he says and every video you´ll learn concepts that has gone in or will go in your own life and how to get rid of them.

I have written some good phrases of him to you:

"I realized that it was much easier for folk, identify problems in every idea or planning that I had, rather than offer a solution to that problem."

"Building a perfect connection with your fans, make it easier to do the second album".

"An example: Once in my career , a drummer wanted to fight , when he did not expect any council, because he is the drummer and the drum belongs to him. How I fix some problem: Make your idea, their idea".

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He did a good comment about all these industries of ready samples that do your music be equal to everyone. Without realizing it, is not yours, you only overcame what will never be yours. When you realize, too late, you have been the victim of those industries who sold illusions and false dreams.

"Customized service has been automated in every turn, is like we forgot that the world is in habit by people, not robots."

"Most folks that I find, still appreciate the personal touch.
Do a personal touch on everything you do. "

"Everybody want the credit for the good ideas, in once no part in those bad ideas."
