In their pre-fame days in Hamburg their name would cause a giggle, as "Piedel" (pronounced "peedle") is Kraut for "cock".

P.S. while "kraut" is German for "cabbage" it's also English for "German". I know because I'm Dutch, which of course is English for "Hollandish".
