Doc: The life and times of Aussie rock legend Doc Neeson screenshot
English | 2021 | ISBN: 1760875368 | 281 pages | True EPUB | 5 MB
He was a legend of Australian rock, the front man who lived as hard and as wildly as he performed . . . this is his story

Often compared to David Bowie and Mick Jagger, Doc Neeson was hailed as a 'messianic rock god'.

He was thumping, pumping, sweaty hard rock. He commanded the stage. He was unstoppable. He was terrifying. He was wild. He was a legend. And as their front man, Doc propelled the Angels to become the highest paid band in Australia in the 1980s and 1990s. With massive album sales in Australia and a US record deal, global superstardom seemed assured . . . but then everything started to fall apart.

This is Doc's story with the highs, the lows, the girls, the booze, the drugs, the tours, the good deeds, the crazy antics, the dark days and the great split that shattered the Angels. When he died in 2014 from a brain tumour, a black veil came down over a generation of Australian rock fans.

About the Authors
Anne Souter was Doc Neeson's last partner. She was with him in his final years. Jon Bradshaw was there in the beginning. He and Doc grew up together as music-mad migrant teenagers in South Australia.

Good old Doc. I liked him and the odd Angels song. I played with them once, fun band.

However, let's be honest. Nobody ever compared Doc to Jagger or Bowie.

Nobody.

No matter how big he was in Australia, I'm sure nobody in any other countries had ever heard of him. Maybe that would have changed if that U.S. record deal could have held him and the Angels together. It could have been a bigger stepping stone to the rest of the world. I'm really interested to know what happened to him though, because I for one had never heard of this guy's name before seeing this right here today. I thought it was Warren Huart for a minute
