I think it's good to point out here that Liszt never did any solo piano transcription of any Beethoven symphony. But, he made the monumental transcription of all Nine Beethoven symphonies for two separate pianos.

For Liszt believed that it would be impossible to transcribe to just one piano, since two pianists would have to cope with so much thoughtful musical information of these opuses that split two periods of music, classical and romantic. Just one solo pianist (alone pianist) will not be able to play all the symphony notes, and some counterpoints and or musical ideas will be lost.

Either the title of this book is wrong, or someone has rewritten the transcripts of this great musician Liszt and turned them into a reduction, for then it will have a new title for this book that should be Reduction, but not transcription.
For those who don't know, solo is a Latin word that means alone, sole, by your self. Liszt never made these transcriptions for solo pianist.
