Soundfly RJD2 From Samples to Songs TUTORiAL screenshot
TUTORiAL | AudioZ Exclusive | 9.91 GB
When he first hit the scene with his acclaimed 2002 album Deadringer, sampling artist and innovator RJD2 proved that it was possible to make infectious instrumental hip-hop beats for a wide audience without the need for a singer or MC. Since then, he's taken on one creative challenge after another, from composing the TV theme music for Mad Men to collaborating with vocalists and rappers, and taking the art of sampling to new heights.

In this exclusive online course, you'll learn from RJ himself how to write and arrange music drawing on the power of sampling records and a collage-based mindset. He will show you how he personally tackles new tracks with his trusty MPC, and he'll open up sessions from some of his classic tracks to show how they were made. You'll learn new approaches to sampling, songwriting, and arranging, and how to make instrumental beats that capture someone's attention from start to finish. Along the way, RJ will share with you his wisdom, perspectives, and advice for fulfilling your creative dreams.

This course is for anyone interested in producing compelling instrumental music drawing from a sampling tradition — no previous experience or MPC required. Drop the needle and let's get started!

I've taken this class as this artist is one of my early 20's hero and I must say that it was quite decent. Obviously, as a Fan, I was expecting to instantly become, like Ramble, a super hero myself. The reality is obviously quite far from my expectation but I learned a few things and tricks here and there even though I've been making sample based music for over 20 years.
It can be quite lenghty at some point, especially in the beginning when he explain the basics of the trade but when you're attentive, you can get a few very cool ideas.
I think it's a great class to get if you are at the end of a project and you are looking for a few creative ways to get your project finished or get one or 2 more ideas implemented in your project before the release.

Given the nature of your message, there's definitely a lot of other educational videos that you should pay attention to. We can definitely agree on that.

From the website itself:
''How long does this course take?

This course was designed for you to go through at your own pace. If you wanted to do all the content linearly from start to finish, there are seven big milestones in the course and a final challenge, that could be done over the course of one to two months.

You're also welcome to just skip around to the lessons and sections most relevant to you and your music. ''

Calling a 9.91 GB class a ''10 minute video''....
And saying that I'm stroking my own ego for giving him props...
Man, that's coherence in a nutshell right there

I need to acknowledge you're ability to be jealous of people showing love to someone you don't. This is a trait that will bring your capacities forward and put you in a situation of strength. You should be proud of yourself. You reached another level in the scales of the greatness of human being. You're part of the change we need. No one can see your insecurity, rest assured.

This looks good. I have to say though, Deadringer's single would def be Ghostwriter which used a singing sample from Elliot Smith - I Thought You'd Understand. It's like one of the most memorable parts!
y'all got anymore of those plugins??

Slightly off topic: for those who doesn't know his debut album from 2002, Deadringer is very good, it was a big hit too when it came out, doesn't mean anything a lot of times, a lot of popular music is pretty empty and forgettable, but this album is good, at least for my taste, for the ones who like this kind of music this album is a must, superb production, fantastic use of samples and a couple of featurings too, give it a try.

Thanks for this. RJD2 back in the day got me into music production.. "The Glow" is one of the best tracks I've ever heard, from someone who makes pretty gloomy industrial techno!
