Respect for R2R's efforts shouldn't hinge on whether someone found a particular release useful or not. They put in time and much work to bring us awesome software that we couldn't otherwise afford and I can't even count how many releases I have personally utilized in my productions. It's easy to sit, do nothing and criticize the efforts of others. However taking the time and skill involved in reverse engineering...not so much. Not to mention the fact that it wasn't like they lied to anyone about it, it's clearly what it says on the tin. It's one thing to say that something didn't work for you, it's another to act like someone here owes you something. I for one am grateful to be able to take SEM V and Wurlitzer for a spin, whether I can use the included presets or even save my own (no that wasn't a shot at you Lord Gaga). The bottom line is when you're grateful you're always rich if even in some small way...or you can choose to live in a place of endless frustration and complaint. In the end one serves to elevate you as an individual (as well as those that surround you) and one makes you just another one of the faceless masses. It's really easy: either it's valuable to you so you download it and say thanks or it's not so you move on in search of something that is.

A lot of people get on CHAOS and tracer's shit too but at least they're trying to do something for the community whether they always succeed as intended or not. I'd download this release just for a piece of scene memorabilia even though to me it means even more than that because I can check out some programs I otherwise would never have had a chance to try. Like they said YOU decide the value. You can do something for someone a million times and they never say thanks but the one time they don't find what you do useful they shit on you. That's the human condition right there.

Not everyone that shares here does it for money, what about all the people that go around posting links on lockers that don't have affiliate reward programs? Like ZippyShare links or Mega links? And though I really dislike when people make money off of the scene why does that somehow make the usefulness of something null and void? Are you doing an audit to make sure everything is how it should be? I don't get it. If it really bothers you why not download it and post it to a non affiliate locker and save everyone from the cycle? Or are you going to say that Sunny doesn't allow mirrors? However I also think that choosing Uploaded.net is strategic because of their unique location which has so far been able to resist the copyright brigade. We're not asking you for money right? And PS R2R is working for the community. SAiNT he's been working for the community even before there WAS A FUCKING COMMUNITY! I'm working here for free and for the community as well as AudioSex. Looking forward to working on other projects too. Other members are also working for the community when they field questions or upload stuff to other lockers for quicker, easier access. The Messenger he works for the community on AudioSex where he updates us on all the new software releases and tutorials. Kookaboo (who is literally keeping our Mac section alive at times) and Lord Gaga work for the community when they do their reversing thing and share it. Studio 555 he works for the community when he busts out tips to get shit installed and working properly complete with diagrams and detailed info. Alraun he's working for the community when he uploads odds and ends that people find really useful and also helps people get it working. Me2audio he works for the community when he spends every waking moment making someone elses life a little easier by answering questions in detail and going to lengths that are almost inhuman. ArticStorm, CHAOS, Feridan, fraggle83, frito zanzibar, light59, Parcell, pilzy, RBolvari, Rolma, SirSillySausage, tracer, Xsze, etc. etc. Sorry a few people here make money but we're not all about that. And you know what if I could devise a way to pay the good folks here for their work I would do it in a fucking instant because they really deserve it.

There are different forces combining in the current incarnation of the scene some with noble intentions some not. R2R has noble intentions, I have noble intentions, others too while some people for whatever reason don't or out of necessity or greed desire to make money. Maybe some of that money is funneled back into products that they buy and share with us, maybe not. Either way it is what it is and it's not going to change no matter how much anyone will bitch about it. What is in the realm of your control is only you.

If the Analog Lab is really fully working, than this "crappy stuff" is worth it, at least for me, as there is no Analog Lab release by now.

Just tried it on Analog Lab on Live9.32/Win7 - seems to working fine on first test. 5,000 lame wannabe analog sounding presets to play around with in my shitty compositions - perfect for an amateur producer preset whore like me...

BTW I stopped the Arturia elicencer install by deleting their temp installer during install (didn't want to harm my Arturia/Nexus 'trial' products...)

So this has already paid off for me, thanks again R2R (and thanks for being able to mocking yourself - obviously a lot of people here don't have this rare gift...)

That question has already been answered a few times in this thread, the results however are for you to interpret. I personally don't suggest it if this is your production PC since later versions of Cubase use MCFACT and therefore there will be crashes all over the place.

Yes, but it's far too unstable to use. I made a completely fresh install of the main installer from the Air iso (the actual Steinberg installer, none of the Air installers or the emu), and then updated to 5.5.3. I then installed the R2R emu, and patched the Cubase .exe and the included VST plugins in the Cubase 5 directory. It runs, plays projects made with the Air 5.1 release, allows you to browse functions/pages/menues, ...but it crashes when you switch plugins on/off, move MIDI notes and other events, etc. Crashes every few minutes when you're not actually doing anything too. All in all, it's far too unstable to use, but maybe worth a look. ....I did think it may be possible to use both the Air emu for the older 5.1 release, and the R2R emu for the newer 5.5.3 plugin updates, although I haven't tried this yet. At any rate, it's worth a check out testing this stuff.

Much respect to R2R for releasing this. Maybe it's useless as everybody is saying, but I guess those people just want something for free without putting in any effort. In my eyes R2R's work here is great. I hope new groups pick up this emu, reverse engineer it, progress and evolve it. For the rest of us, we can use this to test softwares even if they don't work 100%. Shame about the MCFACT, but a big thanks regardless!

Come on guys, I honestly think R2R is having fun with their 1000th release. This group of individuals have been working hard for a while and they're allowed to have a cheap laugh just like the rest of us. Even if this release is bunk sauce, at least it shows that they are trying to get the scene to the next level. I, like most peeps here and other places around the the web, are very thankful for what these teams provide. Thats why I don't complain,whine, or even worse.......beg. Why, you say? Because if I was to do any of those things I would be disrespecting those who work hard to provide me with the tools that I need to perfect my craft. For me, these unspoken heroes are there with me every time I make a break through. To me its very simple, because of their efforts, believe it or not, we get a little closer to the dream. If thats something some of you can't appreciate, you might as well stop dreaming because that state of mind won't get you far. I also don't agree with those that make mula off of the scene, but I'am a believer of the hustle and grind. Meaning that you gotta make opportunities for yourself to prosper and if for some people that means profiting off of the scene, than it is what it is. Overall, we're a community bigger than a single minded person and we should think before we decide to speak. Lets also not forget that at anytime the scene can decide to go back to the real underground like it was back in the day. So lets not do anything to get them thinking that way. Peace and love, fam

My pleasure! Actually, when I noticed that this emu had been posted I got really excited. I instantly thought about the Cubase 5 updates, regardless of what the .nfo said. Thought it was worth a try at least, and having done that I thought it was my duty to give some feedback out of respect. Far too many people on here calling others idiots and disuading people from trying stuff out or testing softwares. They may as well say "do nothing, sit back and wait for more freebies." Absolutely appalling, IMO. R2R have just shared something fantastic with us, which although not really as functionable as most would wish, has had more know-how put into it and has had more time spent on it than probably everybody here on Audioz is capable of. That deserves some respect and a lot of thanks, and it's for us to find out what it works with, not for them to continue putting in more man hours to satisfy the greedy!

This emu is still at v1.0.0 though, so who knows what'll come next! ;)

As for me, next paycheck I'm buying Cubase 7. As good as Air's 5.1 release was, and you bet your bottom dollar you can make music as good as anything else out there with it, I'm falling behind the times using old software, and sadly Cubase 7 has even more protection than both 6 and 5.5.3, and they're both uncrackable it seems. Ahhh well...

Even Reason 6 beta is NOT going to become fully cracked. Because it use WIBU encryption for load/save.
Cracks and patches are not growing on trees...there are ppl making them.
So a little more respect if you don't want another ASSiGN ending.
On my side, i don't care about what i get or not. I'm happy with what i get. But some kids here don't know how to deal with their frustration it seems...

I'm hard-headed one.. So, I tried the same... I've "dismantled" the AiR patcher, marked all the "target" files in to a .txt.. Install the latest updates and patch them all with this new baby.. So I've run Cubase.. everything seems to be workin' fine.. no startup errors, nothing.. but after turnin' some knobs, and load a couple of instruments it crashes!
So, I got the empirical proof that it doesnt work with the updates!
Nevertheless.. The AiR version works fine too without these..

And by the way.. Cheers to R2R! You've made a great tool!
