1. You should generally uninstall old cracked software before installing an update. Might not always be necessary but it's good practice. For Fabfilter plugins, I've had no problems with a simple uninstall. No need to do any sort of registry cleaning, and no need to register again after the update. Also: R2R usually leaves instructions in a txt file.

As for the work on your projects, it should all still be there unless you are going from one major version to another. Like I know that projects with Pro-Q2 don't automatically load with Pro-Q3. The DAW saves plugin settings in the project file but won't load them if the plugin name is different. Save the settings as a preset and import into the new version, or install the older version separately.

speaking of registry cleaning, do you have any tips or programs to do safe reg cleaning? I read that you gotta be very careful or you can really screw up your computer. I used to use a bunch of cracked stuff but basically uninstalled all of it - id love to know how to 100% clean it from my computer.

I use Revo Uninstaller Pro. Nowadays I always install with it (tracking mode) and then uninstall using the log it creates. That way I can be sure it's getting everything. It does have scanning features for non-tracked programs and I've never had a problem with that either, just make sure to read through the keys it catches so that it's not getting anything unrelated. It makes a backup anyways.

If you've already uninstalled everything, this won't help you much. I don't know how to approach your situation apart from a clean install of Windows. You could try a system refresh if you're on Win10, that rebuilds the registry. I wouldn't think there's a need for that unless you're having problems though.

All presets missing for me, anyone else?
Nothing in \Documents\FabFilter where I can see the plugin folders, but nothing in them. Looked in the VST install folder and Program Files, nothing.

EDIT: Tested with Reaper and all presets are there. Missing presets on Studio One was my mistake clicking on S1 preset menu and not inside plugs.
By the way the preset folder for Fabfilter on Windows defaults at: C:\Users\<yourpiratename>\Documents\FabFilter

Hi guys n gals,

today i installed this version of FF.. but wanted to keep the old Saturn version for compatibility with older projects.. so, i just copy the old .dll to another location. uninstalled the previous version of FF and installed the new one. copy back the old Satrun dll and wallah . all is working and i have both versions of Saturn on my pc.
for anyone that needs the old version you should give it a try. worked for me :-)

BOMB APPEARED TODAY !!! I was using Pro-Q 3 without issues some weeks ago, today I loaded my Cubase projects and all the Fabfilter EQ instances were defaulted to "flat" (all my EQ settings lost), the plugin does not show any alert or demo mode and the "deauthorize" option is available. I deauthorized, and reinstalled many times and Pro-Q is not saving patches and sometimes it does not work at all (it is bypassed no matter what control you tweak). For me, this is the 1st time VR won the match because I tried later their 2020.6 bundle and it is working fine.
