Team V.R | April 02 2016 | 109 MB
S-Gear is a collection of guitar amps, speaker cabinets and effects implemented in software for use with your computer, Windows PC or MAC. The software comes as a Standalone Application and as plug-ins for use with the most popular DAW (digital audio workstation) recording software.

The sound of a boutique tube amp, turned up loud!

The really special thing about S-Gear is the amazing high quality of guitar amp tones achieved simply by plugging your guitar into a computer via an audio interface. S-Gear gives you a professional guitar sound without the expense and hassle. We are talking about the sound of a high quality tube amp, turned up loud, and mic'd up professionally in a suitable acoustic space. S-Gear's boutique designed amps, coupled with accurate convolution based speaker cabinet emulation, provide a massive range of guitar tones.

Flexible Drag & Drop Effects Rack.

S-Gear features a flexible effects rack and four different rack processing units. Drag & drop rack units to change the processing order in your rack.

Detailed modelling of analogue electronics is the key ingredient in the DelayThing and ModThing processors, providing versatile analogue style delay and modulation effects. RoomThing is a studio quality reverb processor adding depth and space to your guitar sounds.
Boutique design expertise.

If you've never tried S-Gear you are missing out on a great experience. All the amps and effects are carefully designed by Mike Scuffham (former product designer for Marshall Amplification, and veteran of hardware electronic product design). You may come across products boasting high numbers of amps and effects, but the Scuffham approach is to give you only the best. We want you to achieve the best possible sounds with the minimum of hassle. Read more about our approach to modelling classic guitar amp electronic circuits.

Does NOT WORK PROPERLY AT ALL. Maybe Olymoon or one of the other mods could DELETE this thread?

I hear good things about this app and plugin but however I am not very impressed as the sound is okay but interface is really a 90's application "revalver knockoff"
Also was not impressed with the latency as it adds more latency than any other guitar sim

I stick with jamvox 2 portable and VST ( for the Daw) this thing is a beast I can jam on this thing all day switch to other amp types all through the PA no amp needed and only my Edirol Fa101 interface .

Seems like as we move forward with guitar sims I see more flashy GUI but lack of features like SAG and Voltage options in the amp sim ( ala VARIAC). This was in Guitar Rig 2 which is ancient now but it is my goto Sim for hard rock sounds ala Van Halen and GNR.

Simple is better as it is faster and right to the point.
Was not impressed with this sim at all. Others may differ.

"but lack of features like SAG and Voltage options"
If you go to the creator's site, they will explain how to access both Sag and Voltage.
I don't know about this version, as they are discussing version 2, but I suspect - because the main designer worked for Marshall in their design dept for a long time, that it IS included in this version. I am unable to install it as well, but I was all over their site. Remarkable demonstrations - this is NOT an application designer who does not understand every aspect of amp, effect, and cabinet design, both virtually and real gear. He is copying no one - this is truly unique, and I am speaking as an old-timer who used to used much of the "real" gear in this application - and it is dead on the mark. Just wondering - have you been to the site itself?
I often find doing so tremendously helpful.
In this instance, the links alone are worth the visit.
Peace.

Even if you succeed to install it, you will get a bad sound.
Probably because there is a protection scheme on the audio engine itself...

Do you remember PodFarm by BEAT ? (private joke)
Or Peavey.Revalver.MkIII.V DEADBEEF ? (PJ again)
They never worked.

I wish this VR release will not end like this...
Thanks for trying Team VR ! I wish you will read comments on WHY and HOW it doesn't work

PS : this is a very lame protection from Scuffham to affect sound engine. How many ppl will try this version and think it sounds just bad ? Bad move.
Affecting GUI can be positive. But NEVER touch sound with a protection !

quote by Pipotron2000 this is a very lame protection from Scuffham to affect sound engine

I have tested this many years ago and needed to say at this time it was the only ampsim which remotely sounded like some tube amp...not sure if the protection is so bad when it survived till these days
btw-peple can always use demo and compare the sound

My 2 cents....
I've installed it several ways, always get rundll stopped error but it does finish and i can open it in DAW & Stand alone.
all but one of the Amps "work" and by work mean i get tone. but the tone on the ones that do work are marginal at best, I had the demo installed before and i LOVE this plug in. But the VR version aint the same, nice try boys but you missed the mark.

I can confirm that the Wayfarer isn't working at all and that The Jackal is making weird noises, both on standalone and vst versions.

I'm running it on latest Studio One, Windows 10 x46. I've installed it as admin and everything is completely firewalled.

Thanks for the effort, though. I hope you get it right on your next attempt.

i had the same as you i also notices you really weren't able to hit the inputs on this very hard. when my interface clipped ever so much th plug in went into blubber mode.

Wow what a cool looking plugin. I've been trying to avoid warez lately, and particularly ones that require hard ilok since the chances of me eventually buying them are super slim, but nonetheless big props to VR for hooking everyone up.

Taking the risk of looking like an idiot, does anyone know what the "CE" means after "VST" in the title of this package?
Does it refer to a 'light' version, or to Windows CE, or something else?
This demonstration video is incredible.
Takes me directly back to the feel of my old stage gear - even to the sound of the guitar plugging in.
Thank you, my friends.
And thank you Team VR, and of course, Horsemen.
