Steinberg WaveLab 11 Pro v11.1.0-R2R screenshot
Team R2R | 2022.06.02 | 200.15 MB
With significant new features for stem mastering, multitrack editing, plug-in parameter automation and podcast production, WaveLab 11 has the concept of “multi” running throughout it. With improved multi-channel file handling, multiple track sub-lanes and analysis meters, multi-core processing and more, WaveLab further enhances its status as the true art of mastering.

Multi-channel interleaved support
WaveLab 11 introduces extended support for multi-channel interleaved files and, for the first time, multi-channel interleaved editing in the Audio Editor. Supporting up to 22.2 surround layouts of WAV files (including Ambisonics files for pre-authoring purposes), a multi-channel file can be opened, edited and saved like any other set of mono/stereo files. Featuring comprehensive controls to make precise editing easier, it’s also possible for external editors to work on selected channels only. The detailed new selection options include highly flexible frequency-domain selection in the Spectrum Editor. In the Audio Montage, automatic splitting of multi-channel audio files into mono or stereo clusters makes it fast to import a large multi-channel file. This also allows plug-ins to process channel clusters independently of one another.

Track Groups for multitrack/stems workflows
Track Groups comprise audio tracks which are routed to a group bus, before the signal continues through the Montage output and then Master sections. This provides an additional summing stage with effects plug-ins, gain and pan controls. Track Groups are especially useful for stem mastering and, alongside Track Lanes, another way to apply a common track group effect chain to stem mastering projects.

Track Groups can be created by selecting tracks from a corresponding Group Channel. Using the Track Group Editor, tracks and track groups can be named/renamed, have colors assigned and moved per drag and drop.

Track Lanes for multitrack/stems workflows
Track Lanes is a flexible new feature that can divide an audio track into eight sub lanes, each lane hosting audio clips, a facility especially useful when working with mix stems inside the Montage. As well as clip effects, track effects can be applied to all clips, providing a final processing chain for all stems on the track. Track Lanes can also be used for sound design tasks like assembling, editing and processing sound effects from layered clips. Each Track Lane features comprehensive controls for selection, solo/mute, fold/unfold, lanes can be converted to tracks, selected tracks can be merged as lanes and more.

Parameter automation with clip envelopes
You can now use clip envelopes to automate the parameters of VST 3 plug-ins. Along with the volume, pan and effect wet/dry parameters, clip envelopes are managed from the new Automation Envelope panel in the Inspector window. Envelopes can be assigned to parameters by right-clicking on the parameter, single envelope points can be text edited, envelopes can be turned on/off and their visibility is easily managed, individually or globally.

SuperVision analyzer
As well as the WaveLab analysis meter, WaveLab 11 features a new professional analysis tool, SuperVision. SuperVision is a fully customizable, multi-meter audio analyzer, with 27 different modules that can be applied in up to nine module slots for level, spectral, phase and waveform analysis. It allows the creation of a fully customized layout for a supremely accurate visual picture of any audio project. Multiple instances can be opened to monitor the audio signal at different stages.

I used to use Wavelab back in the day (between versions 4 & 6), but then Sonic Foundry SoundForge soon became my go-to wave editor. SONY looked after it for a few years, although started inflating it... Then along came MAGIX and they completely ruined it, not to mention the size inflating by several more times!

Now I will take great pleasure in returning to Wavelab 11!
Thank you so freakin' much you sexy Witches and funtime!

Edit:
While I really like the new plugin GUIs and there are clearly some very clever and nifty features in Wavelab Pro, from the screenshots I see they've taken on a generic/boring/ugly Magix/Adobe sort of look, which I utterly hate
I'll give this version a go, but I may have to backtrack to 6.1 (assuming I'm not seduced by the latest plugins!)
Patience, respect & gratitude - Always

100% I am not giving open root certificate access of my PC to anyone. I don't know why R2R insist on doing it that way when others use other methods which work fine. Thankful for all of R2Rs releases but I skip the Steinberg stuff.

I see no reason to fear about anything. From R2R's NFO:
A witch says,
‘
Recent years, we have more troubles with un-signed binary. From 10,000 release, we decided to sign our tools (emulator, system DLL, other utility) with our own signature.
If you are a heavy R2R release user, this certificate may help you!
Note that we sign only installable binary. We don't sign one time medicine like patch or keygen.
Test tool is also included :)

Nice google keywords :
"Windows root certificate install"
"certmgr import root certificate"

Have you ever open the certificate manager in Windows ?
VR have their own too, but it was silently installed.

I think R2R is using it to avoid having their releases sold for ca$h.

It's no big deal to have one more certificate installed, Many companies add their certificate too without telling.

This is what ive been waiting for to try both Nuendo and Wavelab.. amazing. Was waiting for TC Team but if this is working without hassles may just go for it.

Quick question - new machine, never installed any teams Steinberg products, is there any particular order in which to install, such as Nuendo first or Wavelab first or it doesnt matter?

Thanks funtime and R2R Amazing as always ,, R2R the wizards of digital magic

I have a question ,is there something special about the way audio is processed in Wavelab or the Steinberg algorithm ,can Wavelab be used as a processing thru unit ,I cannot figure out what it is, but the music always sounds better ,,to bad they do not make a DJ deck it would sound amazing
Thanks again Digital Magicians

quote by smoothrippleThis is my personal holy grail. I have hoped for this for so many years. The day started dreary and now the R2R sun is shining on me! I am shivering in delight.

I now use [regularly] WaveLab6. This will be like learning a new program. I am up for it!

Good luck and arm yourself with extra patience!
Wavelab 6 was a super fast and straightforward application. No fancy GUI just straight to the point!
From version 8 and after, everything changed , redesigned from ground up, more power, more pleasing to the eye, blah, blah, blah, but sincerely very busy and slower GUI that V6.
Honestly, if Version 6 was working with WIn10-64bit, I would never thought to jump on later versions of Wavelab.

I dont think so as far as all the Wavelab process is based on file. You need to open a file and I didnt find a way to process a stream.

I used Wavelab 6 (as well as previous versions before that) for years until upgrading to Windows 10. Then I had to find another solution. I ended up going with Studio One. Quite frankly, I'm very happy with that for mastering. I appreciate the work that went into getting Wavelab Pro 11 going, but not sure that I would get much benefit from switching back.

Is this a mastering tool like TC Finalizer? Finalizer is the only standalone mastering tool I've ever experienced, and I thought it was quite great. I wonder how good this Steinberg's one is when compared to Finalizer.

The R2R info in the beggining says "Before Installing SpectraLayers 8, Install Runtime(s):
Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 " and so on.

What has to do Spectralayers 8 with this release? Is it a mistake or not? Can anyone post the exact steps for the installation of this release?

Yes, I'm surprised that no one pointed this out. Is there no correct NFO for WaveLab? No NFO fix?

Wanted to say that I tried on WINDOWS 10 it works but It seems like I only can run with the provided generic asio driver wich suck as I own an Arturio Audio Fuse and this wavelab pro 11.1.0 from R2R cannot run the Arturio Asio for some obscure reason

If anyone has a clue thank you in advance otherise I'll just connect over the stereo output jack of my laptop and will still enjoy this release

Peace

Update on the situation
My original Arturia AudioFuse Studio Driver cannot work with this version of WAVELAB

I need to pass with the generic one from steinberg...
The only way ...

I noticed from Audio Editor passing from one an other... it seemed like the driver was never released ever even thought I close it...

Finally I think that the "root certificate" is a cool trick for the license open and get you going...But somehow there is some detail that slipped the Team who did it...
When You Close Wavelab... cool it shut downs normally but the ongoing bridge for the certificate to never faill you when you want to use actually never release the driver asio connection so... when you are using an other type of sound editor (not a full DAW for mixing multiple tracks but work on stereo or mono files only )

so... you have to reboot in order to get a release of a driver if you are going to work un Rx 9 Audio editor or Sound Forge etc...

it's a little bummer but when you get the idea you restart as the ultimate work around

Peace
