Is that bc of habit/workflow or actual quality or instrument difference between the two? Just curious

Mainly because of the Play engine not being too good, it used tons more resources and slower. Loading the same samples in Kontakt worked lots quicker. I got this and more in a Complete Composer's Collection back in the day, but ended up sticking to Kontakt for RA and Symphonic Orchestra Gold.

im slowly moving away from kontakt and creating directwave instruments of what i use the most.

4tb of kontakt library hoarding vs the 40 gb i actually use/own is kinda silly imho

Thanks for that :)
I wonder about something ... I have kept "Voices of Passions" (not the kontakt conversation but the ewi instruments and ews samples) which was shared many years ago on torrent sites but no one could use it.
I wonder if it would work with Play

EDIT : And for these people who complain about these releases, it's your right not to like it but don't complain in the thread coz it may affect the mood to the uploader to share these with us for free, us = people who enjoy these libs ... thanks.

i do not use kontact, only instruments in ableton, and all this things (i have not any libraries for any software) from east west and falcon, is a new light . . . maybe for others are antique libraries, but for me are the first time with libraries and are fantastic . . . if r2r do not release this, maybe i do not use libraries at all never in my life . . . becuse this, thanks, so much to r2r for all this work, for me all are fantastic . . . and maybe for a lot of people too . . .
if you use kontact and have lots of libraries, maybe this year santa will not have presents for you . . . but for me was a miracle . . . . old a simple libraries is a new world to explore . . . i am fascinated . . .

quote by xboixThe reason for wanting Opus is for the Hollywood Orchestrator. It's a remarkable tool for turning a few chords into "intelligent" orchestration. One day maybe....

I have other instruments that are on this, but truthfully, unless I get a gig writing for movies, these really do sound great.

quote by Articstormi know, i have used Ra in 2012 a lot, but it was not very good as Kontakt lib.

Really? looks like the same thing, even dimensions are similar.
The Player itself has very low performances compare modern kontakt, looks like a simple player with basic features.

To me, Ethno World already sounded WAY MORE mixed and inspiring years ago already
Now it is Ethno World 6 version

Thanks for providing it for test !

I listened to the demo. I've always loved that pitch-sliding Bollywood strings sound. Can anybody recommend another library that specialises in that?

A lot of string libs can do glissando anyway...
But it's about the bowing too.
So I'd recommend checking out the 8Dio Agitato line, but other than that you've got ADP Aviram Arabic Strings @ 763.5 MB, has the gliss; and Ultimate Pro Oriental Strings @ 4.13 GB; Findasound/Fayez Saidawi Oriental Strings @ 1.63 GB may have it.

It is rare that I will download a library this large as I like to keep my system as lean and smooth running as possible, this library having so many interesting eastern, oriental and ethnic instruments in this collection is what interested me most. I am really looking forwards to this.

Which is why for the last 20+ years we've all used external drives and kept our OS drive clean!
And used external drives as a scratch disc for recording to.

What sound I like the most of this are the bagpipes. Have tried several libraries and VSTs, and I have to say, that these are the best sounding ones yet. Not perfect, but close. Especially when you play with the velocity, you can get very good natural sounding transitions.
