Working just fine in Studio One x64

This is broken for me in Pro Tools 12.5 AudioUtopia. Crashes while scanning presets. So far there is no option for Alchemy with Pro Tools 12. Wrapping the VST to AAX with TransVST comes with a "Missing Data Folder" issue.

I was having an issue with Ableton Live x64 on a Windows 10 machine. It would crash when Live scanned the VST. If I removed the Library path from the text file mentioned by another member, it would ask for the location and crash again. So, I followed the instructions and installed the player version and did the .dll swap as suggested. It worked fine. Also,I installed a new expansion and scanned it with the R5 version - it scanned with no problems. So, it seems to just be that initial scan that is troublesome. I was using the library from ASSiGN, so I installed that first.

I only tested one Expansion, initially, with the R5 version. I then Installed all my other Expansions and scanned with R5, but I got a Runtime Error and crash. I rebooted, deleted the "preset ratings" files,, reinstalled the player version - after moving the R5 Alchemy.dll to my desktop, and pointed Alchemy back to the data/library folder in ProgramData. I am scanning again now. It hasn't crashed yet - and made it much further - but it looks like it will be scanning for a while. So, it seems R5 doesn't play nice with certain Expansions. I will report back if I have any further issues.

R5 version crashes Live 9.7 when loading certain patches. Algo Demon Star, located in the Chameleon Remixed Expansion. Looking at the error log: Exception Code 0xc0000409

This patch does not crash when loaded into the Player version.

I am using the old ASSiGN Expansions that I used a Batch Text Editor with, so they all work with v1.55

A million times thank you for this. I simply love this synth. It's incredible for ambience, weird sounds, and sound design. I use it all the time.

camel alchemy revision 5 will work, if you install first the computer magazine edition followed by this. Cheers!

My Alchemy data folder weight 21.2 gig for 6.306 presets.
So I tried to move this folder on another drive (than C: ....) and edited Config.txt file with new path.

Result Crash.

After many hours, I finally found a workaround.
I used Symlink helper to move the folder and placing a symlink wich redirects any call to the data folder to the new location.
And . . . voilà !

I know this is a bit old but I just wanted to say big thank you to all the community, for your explanations and issues when setting up alchemy for Win. After some attempts it works perfect excepting some pads from a library mentioned in the comments. Also as a long-time user, thanks to everyone involved in the scene for allowing us to test the software extensively before buying it and be able to make music, without you this would be barely possible.

So i found an other solution that can help. But it takes a lot of time...
1. Go to you alchemy presets folder and remove all the presets to a temp directory.
2. I have Cubase 9. Now load alchemy plugin. It doensn't crash when it have nothin to scan.
3. Now the painfull part. Add one of the preset library in the preset folder,
4 In Alchemy, Go to file - Scan for new preset.
5 do like that one by one and scan after each preset added.
It works for me.
Exept for Atmospheric and factory presets keep's crashing

So I had been using the Alchemy Player "Expanded" version for quite some time with all the libraries posted here by the user phatboy303. I had placed all the libraries on a separate drive.
When I tried to install this on top of the Player, it resulted in a crash while scanning for plugins in REAPER. After looking around, I found out that installing this version initialises the configuration file named AlchemyConfig.txt which is present in C:\ProgramData\Camel Audio\Alchemy, which changes the path for the library directories. I changed the paths to the correct location, rescanned in REAPER, and now it works fine.

So if anyone has their samples in another location and is facing a similar problem, simply change the paths to the correct location and it should fix the problem!

Wow. i thought it sounded okey before with the other installer to the player, it still reads demo but no noise or any limits so far. But dame it really sounds great once in advanced. But with this R5 it will read C: data location. had to make a symbolic line via HardLinkShellExt_X64 with the samples and presets symbolic link, there is no error loading presets. list of presets used. photo of presets used that work %100 Edit: maybe just change the location under File "change data folder" and it will change the text location too, then restart the plugin.
