I am the last person that believes in dogma of any kind. The fact that you can consider my point of view choosing money over people is scary to me not only because of how ridiculously infantile, misguided and one-dimensional that statement is but especially in light of the fact that I would hope that you've gotten to know me over the last few years. What I am suggesting is a compromise, not one thing over another but a place of convergence. What you're suggesting is complete disregard for the creators over your desire to greedily consume some shiny new shit and trying to disguise it as some honorable act for humanity. Don't try to disguise what the truth of the matter is which is human greed vs. what's fair and what's right because those kinds of verbal acrobatics annoy me to no end. It has nothing to do with capitalism vs. socialism and I have no vested interest in this from any angle, quite the contrary because releases getting pushed out faster would likely make more people happy. Saying that I only see one view when I work on a warez site is ludicrous mate, you do know I download too right? And in case you haven't noticed socialism has never in the history of this planet worked because it discounts human nature and paints a picture of what we wish we were and not what we are. I'd also point out that Western capitalism is not straight capitalism. For example Social Security is not a capitalist idea, it's actually socialist ideology. If socialism can converge with capitalism then we can converge with a slight delay. I think you just have a seriously misguided understanding of right and wrong. Perhaps you should design a VST and put it out to feed your family and then have it come out the same day as you release it, see how much about people you will be then. This isn't food, water or something essential to your survival we're talking about but warez. And the most ridiculous part of this conversation is that nobody is saying you can't have it we're just saying that we wouldn't mind getting it a little later and just like a spoiled child you stamp your feet and say no I want it now. Finally if there is any valor in this game it lies in the hands of those that play it not those that sit on the sidelines watching it play out.

you are using the word valor out of context. It is a very powerful word and you are throwing it around in a negative connotation in order to attempt to offend someone. You should really check yourself and who you direct your opinions towards.

It's not about capitalism or "money over people" here, sorry Martel. When it comes to virtual products it's always like "it's not material, so why I have to pay for it". I know this is part of the game for developers like me and even if I know, I can feel disappointed when a new release got rogue so quickly.

And it's not about being poor... real poor people have other concerns instead of downloading software ;) I've been there before, but that's not the right place to talk about it.

FIY, if you only wanted to test the product, you could download the demo... which is fully functional and only output silence for few seconds every 30s. Yes, it may be annoying, but it's a good compromise to test it. You don't want to pay for a virtual product? If you have musical skills, simply ask a developer an NFR copy for a demo track in return or ask if they do affiliation campaigns... in this way you can get a legit copy or make some money.

But I know... it's easier going warez ;) That's the real issue... the shortest way it's better, isn't it? :)
