Native Instruments Massive version 1.3.0 plus the 1.3.1 update. AlphaOne is right it will stop "thinking" all the time after a while. I suggest leaving the standalone open while you go to bed for a night. When you wake up your library will have completed its scan and massive will run smoothly again. Not sure why it takes them so long to scan (I think because it sorts the patches into genre, etc). But there are something like 40,000 patches in my bundle. So it makes sense that it would take a long time lol.

I tried that, but each time I open it goes scanning again and get frozen.

Do you know how to disable scanning?

In case adding bunch of sounds at once, you might want to build sound database via Massive standalone. Open it first. In file menu select options, at there select browser and press rebuild db button. All sounds are usable right away when it's finished, no need to wait anything but inspiration. Just fire up the daw and make some noise.

I currently have the 1.3.0 assign version. Can I upgrade directly from this to 1.3.1? Or do I need to uninstall and then install?
