Part.1 has a decryption error, and i can't find the file to change the extension

So everybody...Is there anybody with a working solution to the part1-problem? By the way..next time better add recovery information to rar archives. Its just a single click when generating archives..and I cant understand why its so often forgotten to use!

Is there anybodywho is able to post a list of what should be included in the archive? When I open it in WinRar its something strange like:

mrmuck, this is an awesome share you took the time to put up. It's even more awesome than most here because its not a scene release, its something you took the time out to do yourself and share with us for no other reason than you wanted to. Even better because you shared it on a service because that service is fast, and not because you would make a buck by using a particular host. That is GREAT!

If some people here can't figure out how to show you some gratitude for doing something nice for all of us, than IGNORE THEM. I've seen it before here, and they're not worth it. I'm not worried that a mistake was made on a single part. So what? It's not the point, and we'll get it straightened out.

I appreciate what you did here. I'm sure others appreciate it, as well. Thanks again.

I don't think that this 'Geist_1_0_0_7_Final_Win.part1.rar' is included within that package, at least I don't have see it neither yesterday
(previous uploaded parts), nor today (new uploaded parts).
I rather think that the file which you make reference must be :

'Geist_Expander_-_Best_Of_Guru.part1.exe'
(which was corrupted yesterday !)


The only suggestion that I can give you right now is to simply download

Simply select it within the open archive, and extract it to the desired location (as you get it now as full file thanks to these 3 downloaded Parts, you'll be able to extract it solely).

Then, if you still have the others Parts (working fine, not corrupted) uploaded yesterday, and as follows :

Totally confused.

So, if we download parts 05, 06 and 07 what do we do with them as this still means we have no part 01.

Do we just download the 05,06,07 parts and that alone gives us the PC installer, or do we need to add these to the other parts fro yesterday?

As so well sung by 'Genesis' a few years ago : "A Land Of Confusion" !!!

The suggestion that I done to '147258369' is to get that 'Geist_Expander_-_Best_Of_Guru.part1.exe' solely
(it was corrupted within the first upload of 'Mrmuck').
Above all, it's for all the users that already have downloaded the FIRST uploaded Parts, from which 8 Parts were valid and the first one
(containing that 'Geist_Expander_-_Best_Of_Guru.part1.exe')
was corrupted...

In case you don't have them, or that it doesn't mind you to download once again all the newly uploaded Parts, simply download these new ones with the new provided 'Peeplinks' posted by 'Mrmuck' (the original uploader).


Now, it seems to me that another trouble comes with 2 specific parts provided, and as follows :

- Geist_1_0_0_7_Final_Win.part2.rar
- Geist_1_0_0_7_Final_Win.part3.rar

Normally, these 2 Parts make part of the 'FXpansion Geist v1.0.0.7 Final'.
In fact, they contain the 'Factory Content' that came with the 'Geist Engine v1.0.0.7' itself (It should be a 'Team ASSiGN' release, but I don't remember it exactly !)
And here is the trouble that I feel because this should have nothing to do with 'Geist Expander The Best of GURU' !!!
Even more, to get these 2 Parts to be properly extracted and available, you'll need a missing 'Geist_1_0_0_7_Final_Win.part1.rar'...

So I don't know exactly what 'Mrmuck' (the original uploader) wanted to do exactly within his download : either provide us solely the 'Geist Expander Best of GURU', and in this case he has certainly added these 2 Parts
by mistake, or he really missed to add that missing
'Geist_1_0_0_7_Final_Win.part1' (to get at the same time the Full 'FXpansion Geist Engine' with its factory content) !?!

Another trouble comes with that provided 'Geist_Expander_-_Best_Of_Guru.part1.exe'.
As it's the '.part1.exe', others parts should to be present as well
(for the WIN version), because the MAC version seems to be complete :

- Geist_Expander_-_Best_Of_Guru.dmg
- Geist_Expander_-_Best_Of_Guru.002.dmgpart
- Geist_Expander_-_Best_Of_Guru.003.dmgpart

3 Parts for the MAC OSX version, while only 1 Part is provided
for the WIN version.
~ 2.4 GB for the MAC version versus ~ 1 GB for the WIN version !?!
I'm pretty sure that something is wrong with that...

EDIT: It says in the library description that it is 3gb, so, I presume we are still missing some of the content.

i packed the wrong installer parts for the pc version the mac version was ok but now i repacked the right pc installers and all is fine

The size difference is probably due to compression scheme.
Some formats compress audio more than others.
DMG is a disk image, like an ISO.It is not compressed, like ISO format.A kind of raw binary.
Whereas the PC exe is probably compressed.

Another example : RAR format compress WAV files almost like APE-FLAC size..i even wonder if they don't use their compression engine just for lossless audio files ;)
Same with 7Zip, but Zip itself is not efficient.

So if you need to lower audio files size (like sending a big project to a friend), use RAR or 7Zip instead of Zip.

There is no serial number in the mac version :( i cant even try

Here are my two cents ...

To ALL who have downloaded the original archives from mrmuck (thanks a lot for this upload) and work under windows.

1 - Forget once for all about trying to get an uncorrupted part one.
2 - Unarchive only the .dmg files (i.e.: .dmg, .002.dmgpart, .003.dmgpart)
3a - Search for a tool able to mount .dmg files under windows
3b - or ... search for a tool to convert .dmg to ISO
4 - Mount the image
5 - Use the windows installer and install it
6 - Tell me if that has worked for you

YES! Mac .dmg image have BOTH installers (Mac + Windows + Shared content). BTW, working like a charm here under Mac OSX 10.6.8 + Geist Standalone v1.1.1 build 2 (64-bit).

And that's all (i hope)

EDIT:: I was just thinking about, and to my opinion there was no reason to upload such a big file with apparently two identical images in it. To me it would have been better to make only one ISO with both installers + content (as it is within .dmg files) and dnld only 2,5 GB ... What do you think?!
