@ hellpete: No idea what would be the permissions to be changed in this case. I imagine that something readable-writable and executable will do.
So Im going to give it a try with the following recipe working well for the waves install! using BatChmod

1-change owner to root with all boxes checked for r-w-x and
2-change group to wheel with the same and check apply to enclosed folders and files.
3-hit apply and then close the app



And yep, I can confirm following the steps described by @ wmps_de it works straightforward to the last update. Updates installed on the start-up disk not on other location

omnisphere has 3 updates:

software = latest 1.5.6d
patch library = latest 1.5.5d
sound sources = latest 1.0.2

i have finally installed them all to the latest

I got another problem: I've downloaded all the 6 DVD and installed it succesfully, but I'm in trouble withe the updates.

I managed to install the 1.0.1e update, using the "archive utilitary) from my imac (because it didn't worked with unrarX or winzip).

But now, I can't update to 1.0.2, here is my probleme:

When I open a .rar update file, I got a new folder that contains several new .zip files (between 20 and 30) + a .nfo file from Air , that says "just unzip, install"...

But my probleme is that when i unzip (I ve try to to it with unrarX, winzip and the archive utilitary from the mac), It unzip me each 30 files, I got 30 windows that opens at the same time on my desktop :-)

And I can't get the .pkg or .dmg (i don't know) from it...

If someone could explain.

Ok, I managed to unrar all the update files:

For me, on OSX 10.6.8 and Logic 8:

Here are the steps for my install:

1) Install all 6 DVDs to get version 1.0

Now pay attention: for all updates, you have to install the files in this specific order:
1- SOFTWARE UPDATE
2- SOUND UPDATE
3- PATCH UPDATE

2) Unrar and install 1.0.1e update (only a software update for this one)
3) Unrar and install 1.0.2d (Software, then sounds, then patches)
4) Unrar and install 1.5.4c (Software, then sounds, then patches)
5) Launch your DAW (Logic for me), run Omnisphere and use keygen located in the 1.5.4c files to answer the Spectrasonics Challenge code. (use "crossover"to run the keygen .exe file on OSX, you can find a demo for free on the internet)

Ok, now, you should get Omnisphere running in 1.5.4c version, as i am.

IMPORTANT: To unrar the update files (from 1.0.1e to 1.5.4c), you have to right click on the .rar archive; it will give you several files named xxxxx.aa, to xxxxxxx.az, or something like that
Then, you'll have to select all the files at the same time and right click, and chose "exctract here".
It will makes you another files (as many as before), but this time, all withe the same name.
Then, select again all the new files that have the same name and chose "extract here".
You now get new .rar files, one for each update: software, sounds, patch.
Unrar and Install.
Don't use the keygen until you reach v1.5.4.c and run the plug in your DAW

I ve only use UNRARX to unpack all the files (no other software)

Hmmmm. i downloaded and installed all of the disks, then installed the updates. Omnisphere isn't showing up in any of my DAWs though. I have the serial keygen but i can't even find omnisphere to open it up. Does anyone know whats wrong?

i'm getting serious issues with the soundsource library... none of the synth files are being detected and its telling me to rescan the library. for example some sounds that are not working and showing up as "missing or corrupted" are PWM strings, Juno 60 synths, JP-8, Big Bertha's Lead etc.... does anyone know what pack this is under? I was really looking forward to using the sounds from these synths as I want to have as close of a sound to those instruments as possible... especially the juno60 series.

For some reason I have the synthesizers 1, 3 and 4 data base files but I don't have data base file 2 for the synthesizers (is this what is missing?). By looking at this page, i'm pretty positive i'm missing all 401 soundsources under the SYNTHESIZERS column (CTRL+F big bertha's lead and it will take you there). Are these contained in data base file 2? If so I have reinstalled the soundsource library and this should all be on version 1.0.2 according to spectrasonics' website, yet its still not working for me.. hit me up if you know how to fix this.

I've installed every single incremental update in the proper order, software update first, followed by patch update. I'm up to date on everything

I'm still getting constant "missing or corrupted" error messages for certain patches.

I also noticed that the original install only has distortion 02.db and no distortion 01.db

I'm not sure if that's the missing link, but could someone possibly post the first database file? As it stands, the plugin works perfectly, but multiple patches simply won't load or open. Thanks!
