On MacOs, I copy pasted the VST3 in the right folder, Ableton saw it but displayed me the infamous "this file is from Internet blablabla" gate message.

I went to terminal:
sudo chmod -R 755 ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/<name_of_plugin.vst3>
sudo chown -R $(whoami) ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/<name_of_plugin.vst3>

Now Ableton can't find the plugin even after a rescan and a restart. What am I missing?

Did you codesign it?

Better than the original, it has selectable oversampling. This is an amazing, free version of a classic plug that has been around for maybe 20 years.
I haven't compared it bit for bit but it does exactly what I wanted from the original.

i know that audio is largely astrology for some people but it's always hilarious when they out themselves as an ignoramus and how psychology affects their hearing so much.
remember, if you can't repeat a test consistently through double-blind studies, it's not worth pursuing. that's why ITB works.
