* The presets path sadly cannot be changed

Does that mean that I can't alter the stock presets or that I can't save mine?
be kind :)

sure, you can.

in the newest: Sumu: just click the *page* icon on the top next to the presets selector to save your own,

can also create a diretory for your own presets, within the main Sumu directory, which itself probably cannot be moved.

on the others (aalto etc. ) there is a direct dialog/command within the presets section.

Nah, it just means they have to be installed to "%AppData%\Madrona Labs".
You cannot install the presets to another folder or drive (for example to save space on your OS drive), otherwise the plugin won't find them.

You're definitely able to create/edit your own presets, there are no limitations ;)

I just hope the developer adds an option to save plugin settings to a file in future updates so we can change the paths or save window sizes etc.

These are so good. I haven't seen an updated crack in years and I've only used the original 3. Very excited. Thank you so much. I bet the installer is a work of art too like usual.

Ye, I didn't know anything about these plugins. Just saw the request for Sumu and how many likes it had so I thought about trying to see what I can do here.

During my patching progress tests I started to really like these plugins, especially Kaivo but they're so expensive that I don't consider buying them until I tried them for quite some more time ;)

Now after the release I just searched for Madrona Labs here on AZ for fun and saw that everything but Sumu got released already so if I would've been smart, I coul've saved a lot of time finding the correct patches in the assembly but ye, it was a nice exercise.

Also, I need to mention how r4e's installers are art. I just spent a minute looking at the installer and listening to the music, lol.
be kind :)

Thank you so much. Creating the installers for my releases always takes the most time as every image/icon/color you see in there is something I create especially for that particular project. I even edit the installer music to work better as a loop and then there is the coding part, which is different for the most releases but that way my library of custom code scripts increases so in future releases I hopefully just can import the scripts I need for specific cases.

Anyone getting MASSIVE cpu consumption from Sumu? (mine is at 100% without even playing note) This thing is basically unusable at this point...

Does this also happen to AaltoVerb?
Those 2 are coded differently to the other plugins and both crashed in my tests on virtual machines because they required special graphic cards emulation which VMware doesn't offer.
Means you could try updating your graphics card drivers to see if it helps.

You also could take a look at Window's event viewer to see what makes Sumu hang and then write me in a pm. I then could try to see if I can fix it for you.

It seems to be only Sumu. Aaltoverb cpu usage is relatively low compared to the others.

I'll have to do some homework on how to use Windows Event Viewer, as I'm not very familiar with it, but I will do it and get back to you. Thanks!

yes, Sumu is an insane CPU eater. you need to have a very recent and capable CPU to run it effectively.
On my 10 year old i7 it consumes 60-70% in idle state.
Try reducing the voice count from 4 to a lower number and see if this helps.

The other products from Madrona are far less demanding on the CPU, be sure to try them ;)

use less voices you can reduce cpu usage a fair amount obviously not an ideal solution

Is Virta something like Antares Kantos?

TY r4e

Hm, here it runs smoothly at 5-6% CPU. Got a 5 years old Core i9 9900k.
But compared to other plugins, it's quite high, only Serum uses more.

This is Crazy low cpu usage. I have a AMD 5950x and I get instant 45% cpu in a empty Projekt just 1 sumo.

What cpu meter did you read? The task manager or the cpu meter inside the daw?
  Releaser 24.05.2013 26 1119
+9172
Task manager and SAVIHost but yea, in my DAW it shows 49%.

Just compared it with the unpatched vst and the unpatched one even takes 54% CPU in the DAW. Means this patched one is kinda a little less hungry.

I hope they fix this in an update.
This usage would be a reason for me to not buy this plugin.

doubt that it improves Sumu much, but more ram will not hurt you in any case :)
