AD2 is less than SD3 and about the same as EZD3. Pros and cons on both sides. AD2 has a lot for it, the different kits sound cool (they provide tons of variations with different compression and mic mixes) and they cover a very wide range (from old Simmons drum to Funk kits, Jazz brushes, Led Zep-style heavy kits, etc etc). You get tons of stimulating MIDI patterns. If you have tried EZD3 I think you're going to find something different and which could fire up your creativity, depending on your preferred genres of course. I recommend trying it.

The great thing about EzD3 is the sampling. it's similar to Sd3 just not as in depth. The EzD3 kits default sound IMO is better than AD in that it takes less time sitting around making them sound good. EZD3 is also very good at working with midi e-kits. I have still yet to test AD with the e-kit so I cannot speak to that just yet. The thing that AD has going for it in this release is that most/all of the ad-paks are included which lends a great deal of diversity to a production. I still have yet to see how it's midi e-kit support stacks up against EzD3.

Personally, I feel like AD is more mix-ready sound than EZD, but EZD has much more useful groove files. I remember someone had kindly uploaded converted EZD groove files which can be used with AD on this website.

Strangely, this new one's library is a little bit smaller than the one in previous version. Comparing 'Addictive Drums 2' folders in iso file, this one is 11956MB and the previous version is 11977MB.

Anyway it's really good to see this updated one is realeased, cause AD is my favorate drum VSTI. Thanks R2R!!!

Somehow the "EZdrummer Midi Library For Addictive Drums 2" doesn't work on this version it just gives me an error and then keeps scanning indefinitely i get this error at the end of the log (EZDrummer.AD2Map is present on my folder):

Same here. I hope someone can find a workaround. I'm going to go back to the previous version because most of the midi I use in AD2 are from the EZDrummer crossover.

I had a same error and this worked for me. Place .AD2MAP file right under the "External MIDI Files" folder, not "EZDrummer" folder.
It will look like this:

\Documents\Addictive Drums 2\External MIDI Files\EZDrummer
and
\Documents\Addictive Drums 2\External MIDI Files\EZDrummer.AD2Map

Hope it works for everyone too.

Sorry for the late correction. I've just realized that this method was not a practical solution after all. By moving the file, AD could no longer read it, so it only appeared that no issues were occurring. The workaround I did is to use MidiFileMapper and convert midi files itself. It can convert EZD midis to AD midis.

Same error when I try to refresh the library to add other midi. Hopefully there's a fix for this

Seems that the VST3 has a different ID from my previous VST2 version, so none of my projects open. I can literally have both plugins on different tracks. Annoying. Any fix?

computer ID still not working even from logs seems to log differnt ID’s? plugin still works but presets not opening… and i get like 3 pop ups every time i open app about computer ID error... on win 10 ableton live 11

For me this gets deactivated every so often and I have to re-run the r2r activation tool, get Computer ID and Activate it once again. I did not have this problem with the last R2R version.

Can anyone give me an tips on uninstalling previous versions of AD2 to make sure I can instasll this properly. I already have legit AD2, I just need adpaks...

I managed to install it BUT .I get and error when i start the plugin ,i can ignore it and use the plugin 100% but if i save my work it gets reset everytime i open it back .Anyone knows the problem ? The error i get is (Error found when calling 'proc' File Data/Events.db not found)
