Exactly. Highly amateurish work that they are trying to make look good. Simply supplying the cracked .EXE would have been enough. Additionally, the Activator doesn´t even launch at all under Windows Server 2022. Completely broken.

Releases are used by people that value time or maybe don't even have time, as a projection of my thoughts of the question at hand. Installers aim to make it click click maybe click one or two more times, that kind of thing, experience.

From the perspective of release(r)s, it is best to do for the most as opposed to special cases.

If you're (the potential installer individual) crafty enough to install to another location, that dictates that you're already crafty enough to cut and paste an .exe over another one, and cleanup the empty folder(s) if necessary or wanted. (After install, I mean.)

Or crafty enough to extract the patch, before all that.

RipX is different than almost all releases in its ways. TF release, and I will even say TCD releases delivered as far as this point is concerned, well.

The reason you don't get custom installers for this is because when compiling the installer, it takes 4 days, or 3, or 5. Not kidding. It simply stalls at one point but it is not truly stalled. It is working and will eventually complete, but nobody has the interest to make a custom installer for days.

If you know for 100% fact beforehand that a release is like this, and you want to put it somewhere else - prepare the folder somewhere else, then symlink it to the original location. Then, you will have an entirely seamless experience from that point on. I do this for all plug folders on one of my machines. They are all truly on a 2nd HDD but I install everything like I wasn't an audioz member with knowledge - just go I mean. :)

All the "activator" does is copy a cracked exe to the default install location, which is utterly pointless.

No, the activator does more than that.
You know how to copy-paste a file, right?

Normalmente cuando saltaba el antivirus (Nod32), desactivaba el antivirus, instalaba el software y luego volvía activar el antivirus.
Pero esta vez, cuando vuelvo a activar el antivirus, igualmente me borra archivos y no puede funcionar el Ripx.
Alguna persona con el mismo problema?

Sobre tu problema: Normalmente no solemos proteger nuestros 'patch' porque esto podría causar problemas a algunos usuarios (más aún de los que las protecciones intrínsecas ya ocasionan); pero en este caso sí lo hicimos. Naturalmente probamos la 'release' en varios entornos para asegurarnos de que funciona correctamente pero no podemos estar seguros al 100% de que no se vaya a dar algún caso como el tuyo.

'Ripx.exe' está protegido con VmProtect, una protección comercial muy popular que incluso podemos encontrar en soft de audio, Kirchhoff-EQ por ejemplo. Si tu antivirus 'salta' con dicha protección tienes un problema.

hey all,
I'm still rather new to the community. I've used several of your releases and want to say thank you first and foremost.

I'm having problems getting the correct install, as everytime I load RipX it gives me an activation bar and says "activate to rip".

what are the steps to take to make sure I installed the proper release and to get the full release to work?

any help will be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance!

I got the same issue. For some reason copy paste the fix file didnt work. Only use the activator work. I installed the app in D and I try copy paste exe file and replace. But when I open got "activate to rip". Please help.

When you listen to individual audio extractions, it may sound better than other concurrent softwares. But if you're doing a null test = adding every individual extracted track, then substracting the whole to the original, you'll get tons of noise and audio loss, like if it was converted into mp3, then the software would do the extraction, then the files would be reconverted to wav ! Or does it mean that those algorithms are somewhat relifting the output result of each extracted file in order to sound better to the ear (a kind of smoothing) ?
That's such a shame, because the software concept is great. But the software itself doesn't respect the sound integrity. If doing a null test with isotope rebalance, in the opposite, you'll find just perfect silence. No loss.
I think conceptors of this software are not sound engineers. We cannot use such extracted files if the result is lossy. What a pity.
Hope that when they'll use a new algorithm based on Demucs version 4 of the IA motor they are using, this important detail will be corrected. I would have liked to complain to RipX, but no way, since I just tryied it here.
Do someone have bought the software and can report this very important fact ?

Also, is anybody using Demucs (v3 / v4) here and tryied a null test ? I would have been curious to know if the problem is coming from Demucs, or from RipX...

PS: I found a solution to make this software still very useful for sound extraction...if you take the time to substract the sum of the 4 extracted tracks (bass + percs + vocals + other) to the original file (and keep the resulted file as a new "detail" file). This operation (null-test) is supposed to give a null file with only perfect silence. But as it doesn't (as explained before) , then just use this differential file as a bonus "detail track" to the rest of the extracted files on your DAW, then you will have an useful and complete extraction in 5 files with this software. In fact, you could observe that most of the drums reverberation, low-level drums transients and low-level "other" sounds (under -20 dB) can be found on the null test obtained file. It is simply what the software algorithms did not detect as music content due to their detection limited under a given level amount.

You may also combine this differential file with the file named "OTHER" (I mean, making the sum of both) if you want to treat 4 files on your daw instead of 5. And I think it is probably what Izotope rebalance is making automatically after extracting the 4 parts... If you do this, then you can do a null test with the 3 tracks + the 4th "augmented" one, all substracted to the original file, then you'll see that the result will be a perfect silence, without any loss. That's just logic if you understand what I do... That's true that RipX extracts significantly better than any other (better separation and less artefacts) except that it simply ignores the drums reverberation when extracting (stupid) and some other low-level details too. Some misconceptions because programmers are not sound engineers... But you can fully restore those "ignored details by algorithms" with my process ;) It tooks time to do this, not very practical, but technically this is the only way to go if you want quality extractions preserving low-level signals. Have fun !
