You don't need that. Just select Tonex from the drop down list (it's at the bottom) and click Automatic Registration (Windows). You need the new fixed keygen though, from the update post.

User profiles downloaded from ToneNet are stored in a Library.db file which is in the Tonex folder in my documents. I was able to copy this file from my free version of Tonex into the copy of Tonex on this page and the nineteen amps that I downloaded were transferred onto this copy. They worked and did not effect of the previously unlocked Tonex amps.

So I would guess that if someone owned a version of Tonex that allowed unlimited user profile downloads from ToneNet. They would be able to share their Library.db file. But I would always make a back up copy of your current Library.db file.

Hmm, so if i'm understanding this correctly, Tonex allows you to CAPTURE guitar amp IR's, and Amplitube allows you to USE them? Not sure i understand the difference fully

amplitube is modelling, with only the cabs as captures (actually hybrid), while tonex is capture only. tonex is integrated in amplitube or standalone, like the rig player is integrated in th-u.

amplitube, via the modelling technology, can create complex chains, while tonex can only load any chain as an "as is" capture, without modifications possible.

tonex is still in the beginning, though, i'm sure it will get refined in time. as it stands, the drive tones sound pretty mediocre, to my ear - natural in movement, but dull and harsh at the same time (too much where it shouldn't have, and too little where it should have) - the top end curve doesn't seem very accurate, plus it's muddy enough. on the other hand, amplitube doesn't sound any better either - it has the character, but lacks the quality and the natural feel. i hope that answers it.

Everytime I click on another plugin and then click back on ToneX, it freezes Reaper while trying to bring up the ToneX GUI for the second time. I guess I can keep it working so long as I never close its GUI but that means no adjusting other plugs on the track.... Anyone else having this issue?

Close. In my Reaper it doesn't freeze, it just closes wo warning. And this is with the new keygen. But the same situation: I can open it, and all is fine, but if I click away then click back, crash.

Pardon my ignorance, Tonex standalone, is it installed separately, as an icon on the desktop, or is it installed only as a plugin inside amplitube? Because I only see it inside amplitube, and in vst3 format, but I'm not sure if it is also installed independently on the desktop, thank you very much in advance!

Edit, I found the icon, in the IK multimedia folder, because standalone does not install automatically! Thank you

I've tried to install the standalone twice, but I can't see any new desktop icons. Though it has installed in reaper okay.

I went to program files and right clicked the ToneX executive to send a shortcut to my desktop. This now works okay and I now have Tone X working in stand alone mode.

I'm really picky when it comes to amp sims for metal guitars. Looking for a big-production-modern-metal-ready-tone, even with Neural I'm not entirely satisfied. But THIS... I played around for 5mn and found gorgeous profiles. We might witness the beginning of DI guitars revolution.

Something that's really a shame is the absence of an input gain knob. One should record DI guits at -16dB peak and it's not enough for most high gain profiles, so this absence is a pretty big deal, even if there are workarounds. Looking forward to future updates !

Oh and why on earth didn't they implent stereo mode... Neural enables me to only have 1 instance on a bus track when ToneX needs to be put on both DI tracks. Pretty shameful as well in 2022

More work required as currently crashes Reaper 6.68 and S1 5.5.2. Sadly Unusable even with repack gen if you close plugin and then try to reopen it, crash n burn baby!

Wait it out for a complete repack hopefully, thanks anyway.

It is working great for me in standalone mode. I can change and tweek with no issues. It could do with some more reverbs though. This is going to be great once more amps in future updates start coming through.

Well just loaded a earlier backup of Win 11 22H2 v22621.382 and the new Keygen ran fine so I guess its either something in a later build of 22H2 or some conflict here. I'll start building up this image .382 since I already have ToneX installed here. I'll delete my other two posts.

Just curious, is the installer installing a desktop icon for anyone after it completes since I get nothing here and manually have to create a shortcut on the desktop? Ran the installer on Win11 21H2 and 22H2 with the same results of no desktop icon created.

Stock sounds are not exceptional. There are better around... the plugin is good cracked but it is impossible to connect to tonenet.
