I had the same problem. Just select the place where it was created, click on 'open' and suddenly it's authorized.
I have no clue whether this is due to the keygen or a strange activation by the dev.

Can anyone tell me what file type the KG creates once the .dat file is loaded and the key is generated?
It says it generated it to the desktop but there's nothing there.
I think it's hidden somewhere similar to the Overloud .ol2 files which always have to be searched for.
I just need to search my MacBook for the file type.
Anyone?

Seems that it's harder for Mac users to use the keygen. I did everything correctly, found the licence file inside Crossover on the Desktop but it still wouldn't load.

Try a few times. It loads the license eventually band then the license will disappear from the crossover's bottle desktop folder inside the crossover bottle. once it loads. Then close the plug and reopen. It is weird the way this works there but eventually it registered fine.

Crossover bottles located at :
your name/library/application support/crossover /bottles/name of the bottle.
Then you drill down as if you were in a windows directory till you find the desktop folder

Update for Mac users:
It turns out the final file was being generated to desktop as instructed (same place as .dat file) but actually going into the Wine 'desktop' which I was using to open the KG.
It looks like this R2RAUTH.ttauth if you need to search for it.

It's actually this:
Via Parallels, the keygen created a file called something like R2RFullActivation.dat, or R2RCompleteBundleActivation.dat, onto my desktop.
I put that into a folder. I named the folder Lic but irrelevant.
Pointed plugin to the folder and all plugs were authorised.
The .dat vanishes from the folder.
No need to then search for any .auth file!

Prior, I searched and found old .auth from previous R2R releases.
But they are the result of a successful auth and we don't need to search for them after it is successful, as seems to be implied in above comment.
Hopefully this clears up any confusion for mac users.
Wine based way will always bury the created file deep into the same place, but I don't envy you guys still using Wine!
Parallels all the way for me.
Means I can bounce a mix and finish it in WiN10 with certain other tools not cured for macOS yet. Not that I ever do! ha.

I have to say last year was incredible and very grateful for so much kindness from R2R and company .... plugins like soothe 2 ... virtual mix rack .. and all Softube Tube .. waooo so excited .... I thought that I would never taste them. Thanks to them I have bought 2 of them and they are from my battery of plugins ... I say this year has been incredible and brutal .... protools 2021 .. not to mention .. fl studio 20.8.3 waooo and many other things that they are ufffff ... don't work on intel mac can't import the folder accept only dat and then crash treid now tree times this is realy shit Keygen never have such Issues with a R2R keygen shame on ...waste 1h with this shit now just to go back to the older version with Time machine...hope that isn't the standart for upcoming keygens...realy pissed off

buntymc try not to be ignorant and make generalizations about a group. This pc vs mac shit is hillbilly at best. Exitor is just not very good at using a computer and this doesnt represent all computer users. Exitor is a prime example of someone who is not smart enough to navigate AZ and the wonderful goodies here. Dont be a mac/pc hater, its actually more intolerable.
