I checked 180 of 271 RAR files content. In Band in a Box \ Drums \ directory there is unnecessary 60GB WAV files. That files unnecessary cause there is WMA versions already.

Example ;

Band in a Box \ Drums \ JazzSwingLewis^ \ = 1596MB
WAV files = 1428MB
WMA files = 130MB

WAV and WMA file contents are identical.

identical contents yes - but you do realise wma is a lossy format, only marginally better than mp3 files. I, for one, do appreciate having the wav versions available.
But I agree it is almost 60 GB - not the 5GB littlewierdo thought in his previous comments.

Update:
I just saw your earlier comment where you said you've already got 1-253 and would prefer to find installers
So, maybe these are what you're looking for

Yes, thats what i need, Thank you. WMA lossy but Roland, Garritan kind products have OGG files too. I guess littlewierdo talked about realtracks directory cause that directory have less WAV files. (i couldnt check all of it, i just checked first 180 RAR files content)

Band in a Box have bigger problems than WAV-WMA differences. When you use different chords or different tempo than original audio it already sucks audio quality. You can hear EQ differences between chords or chorus kind effects and its very annoying. It happens cause BB's timestretch and pitchshift algorithms are bad.

Maybe write the track at the original tempo and use external software to adjust tempo later? I have noticed that occasionally, it literally has wrong notes and I have to regenerate the track. I dunno, its weird. Im no Band in a Box master, but what its doing is in my view pretty amazing. It isnt 100% randomly generated, they are using prebuilt phrases and building bigger phrases by combining those smaller prebuilt phrases, but overall, this software is doing a better job than any other algorithmically generated music.

This is a zip archive, wav files typically compress to 10% their original size, so the wav files go from 60 gb to about 6 gb. Try zipping a wav file and see for yourself :)

Subject is not just about download files, after extraction there is 60GB WAV files with 6GB WMA files. You may prefer WAV files then 6GB WMA files are trash, i prefer WMA then 60GB WAV files are trash. I'm not blaming you, you dont need to tell me file size differences cause you spent too much time for upload. I'm telling this for who wants more free space on their disks.

BB's science is simple than you think. It just transposing, matching harmonies, using predefined parts from samples randomly. From musician perspective BB's results have many mistakes, you cant produce music without editing. I'm not using BB's software much i have it cause of samples. I'm using DAW for timestretch and transpose processes already.

In BIAB, if you go to Options -> Preferences, then click the Realdrums option and wait for the window to appear (takes a few seconds to pop up), in the upper right corner is a button labeled Archive. Hitting this will erase the wav files. The wav files end up getting installed as part of the installation process and I dont remove them because some people may want them, and they are easily enough removed for those that dont need them. I figure, hard drive space is cheap. I have a 12 TB drive for programs like BIAB that dont need super fast read / write times.

Does no one have a scripted download manager? Just select the 271 links, copy them into your download manager, like Jdownloader, tell it where to stick the files, come back in 2 hours and you have them all downloaded.

The reason this is not split into separate downloads is due to the nature of how PG Music released this. The history, in short is that prior to 2018, PG just installed files all over the place. In 2018, they decided to cleanup the directory structure. This is all fine and dandy for those that have a legit copy of Band in a Box, their handy dandy system program automatically redownloaded the new and updated Realtracks and reinstalled them to the new centralized location.

However, many of the Realtracks that are floating around on the internet are the old installers which install everything to bizarre locations and simply installing these Realtracks that use the older install path locations will result in Band in a Box not seeing that they are installed.

As such, I downloaded everything I could find, installed everything, and manually cleaned up the directory structure so that Band in a Box saw everything as being installed correctly. This version will show every Realtrack from 1-300 as being installed if you go to Help->Which Addons do I have installed. It will show all the soloist tracks as being installed. It will show all Realdrums as being installed. It will show about half the midi styles as being installed as I was unable to locate about half of the midi styles. In addition, there is a plethora of additional official content that is in this version that isn't even normally seen in the "Which addons do I have installed?" window such as shots and holds, lessons, and so forth.

If you scour the web as I did for about a month finding everything you can and then manually install all of the addon content, then manually move the incorrectly installed files to their correct paths, you get what I zipped up.

As an fyi, this took about a dozen installs to get right, manual installs for each attempt was around 125 individual files that had to be installed, then have their files moved to the correct path, not to mention the insane amount of time I spent trying to find as much as I possibly could.

This is compounded by the fact that there is not a comprehensive list of everything for this program. You wont find it on PG's website anywhere. There is no documentation on the correct paths for everything.

So, even if I did provide the files for installing this yourself, you would have to manually move all the files yourself, and that would require writing an extensive guide on how to do that.

Or, I do all the work, zip it up, you download it, extract it, configure a few settings, and within hours, you are running the program. The difference is, while its extracting, you can take a nap, knowing that when you wake up, all you have to do is run the executable and nearly all the work is done for you. Or, you could go through what I did, spend hours painstakingly installing each of the 125 files one at a time and moving the files after each install yourself.

Also, considering my upload speed is 100k per second, this took 3 weeks to upload. It took so long to upload in fact that after I finished, I had to redownload the whole thing so the links would not expire (zippyshare deletes unused links after 30 days).

I used zippyshare so that you would not have to have a premium account for full speed downloads. Im not looking for money, Im looking to contribute.

If you aren't using a download manager for these big downloads, why not? Jdownloader or FreeRapid are two of the better ones.

Fully agree - I've been using Jdownloader since it first came out, and combined with open Zippyshare links, nothing beats it for ease and speed. Thanks for what must have been a HUGE amount of work. I was collecting scattered bits of BIAB a while back, and by the time I had them collected and strewn about, and found they weren't installing uniformly, I just gave up on it. This is going to give me my practice band back, and better than it was, by far. You just can't (IMHO) do better than BIAB for just sitting back and jamming all night long, without everybody's equipment scattered around the house, and with no limitations on style because somebody doesn't like a particular style, etc. Thanks for doing all of the work, and Olymoon, thanks for filling it in, thanks adheesive for filling in the last of the blanks, and... just thanks, Audioz, for being here. My best to everyone - hope you all have a great day - and life. There just is no site like this anywhere - never has been, never will be - and I've been around a long, long time (long enough to remember, before the internet, that all of this would have just been a fever dream - and to still feel grateful and amazed). I'm going to transfer this to an old 250 GB USB HDD, and put it in a little case.
Just one in 7 billion. Here and gone.

Hi Littlewierdo,

(hard to type that without feeling like I'm insulting someone)

Firstly many thanks for putting all this together.
Clear from your description that it's a heroic effort. Also clear to me because I did something like that a while ago but I deliberately left out all the RealTracks so that I could have just the midi part of the Band in a Box game. I'm sure that's blasphemy to BiaB enthusiasts but at least it was about 120 GB smaller.
With your pack, now maybe I can get the RealTracks as well- so thanks a lot.

I noted you said...
"It will show about half the midi styles as being installed as I was unable to locate about half of the midi styles."

So here's a link to plug that missing bit.
https://peeplink.in/e0eafab731fc

This is the 3,546 style files (from packs 0 - 77)
and I think that's all the Styles to version 2018
zipped up it's tiny - approx 17MB

Please someone DO mirror this or add it to the main list or whatever.

Holy crap, thanks much :) This completes this (I think) other than some of the XTRA packs. Ill have to go through and make a list of everything that is missing, but that will be a few weeks until I have time for that :)

Just a note to everyone, in a month or two, I will be purchasing this software and I will provide an official version as PG makes it available to their customers. I wont be able to provide the 2019 version as my cracking skills are not sufficient for that, but at least I can provide the official tracks that PG currently offers to its customer base.

Thanks littlewierdo, I have collected almost all of things that you have. It has taken a lot of time and effort and I am still missing a few parts that I could not find.

I feel your pain assembling this package and would like to thank you sincerely for your hard work and generous attitude.. This should get me complete. I use this software and it is amazing.

Creating tracks is almost like working with talent in the studio. I Joke with my studio friends and tell them the only thing missing is the talkback mic and temperamental musicians, LOL.

I am patiently waiting on the 2019 BIAB with the new vst plugin, Like everyone else.
