Apples to Pears...
This one covers the classic use of a bass instrument.
Trilian on the other hand, covers so well the bass synth realm, and the sound of the classic basses styles. I recommend to use both. But if your HDD needs a brake, of course, MODO bass its the proper choice.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I know Trilian offers way more than just bass guitars. I meant, how does the sound of two compare when it comes to bass guitar (especially in rock/metal mixes)? Can anyone tell?

I've found modo to work well in my mixes. Will post an example a bit later if I remember to. It's a metal track. Personally, I used to use Trilian. But now I use modo.

This uses MODO for the bass. Mixes well imho.

Authorization works fine but standalone and AU plugin both crash for me. Batchmodded all files, even DL'd installer from IK site, same results. Other IK products (Amplitube, TRacks, Lurssen) work fine for me.

UPDATE: Following hahaquasar's advice, I uninstalled v1.5.0 and installed v1.0.2 (which I hadn't previously installed) but it too crashes, both standalone and AU. Batchmodded these too. Anyone had similar woes?

osx 10.11.6, Standalone and Live 9.7.4 crashed also.
I fixed it by issuing in Terminal:
sudo chmod 775 /Library/Application\ Support/IK\ Multimedia/MODO\ BASS

It works for me on Mac El Capitan Logic X ...
I first install v.1.0.2 run keygen
But standalone still in demo mode. I install v.1.5 run keygen and everything

Got it to work on High Sierra.

Run the Uninstall script for Modo 1.5, reboot. Re-install. Go offline and run R2R keygen, Authorize.
Then Right Click the following files and folder, select "Get Info" and change everything in "Sharing & Permissions" to "Read & Write". (You'll have to click on the little lock icon in the lower right corner of the Info window and enter your password to be able to change Permissions.)

Files:
HD > Applications >Modo Bass
HD > Library > Audio > Plug ins > Components > Modo Bass.component
HD > Library > Audio > Plug ins > VST3 > Modo Bass.vst3
HD > Library > Audio > Plug ins > VST2 > Modo Bass.vst

Folder:
HD > Library > Application Support > IK Multimedia > Modo Bass (folder)

Does anyone have problems with Modo Bass not playing notes in FL Studio?

I can play all notes in the plugin itself using the virtual midi keyboard but when I play back a series of notes from the piano roll it will ignore certain notes.

edit: when I put the notes slightly off-time and not exactly on the grid they will play. really strange.

sudo chmod 775 /Library/Application\ Support/IK\ Multimedia/MODO\ BASS

Hey, guys!
Working for me in macOS High Sierra 10.13.3.
After running the pkg installer, I could not open the standalone application and neither the plugins.
I had to extract the contents of the pkg, in which is the MODE BASS folder, and copy it manually in Application Support/IK Multimedia. I've done it with the "unpkg" application.
The MODO BASS folder created by the installer itself is blocked, not allowing the application and the plugins to open.
