The recreation of analog tape characteristics has always been a demanding discipline. The Vintage Open Deck employs the VCM technology to recreate the analog circuitry and tape characteristics that shaped the sound of open-reel tape recorders. Legendary tape recorders from Studer or Ampex have created a sound, which is only difficult to find in today’s production environments. The Vintage Open Deck is a four-in-one tape machine emulation with different sound characteristics to choose from: Swiss ‘70, Swiss ‘78, Swiss ‘85 and American ‘70. For an even wider range of variation, the characteristics can be individually applied to the record and playback decks.

The Vintage Channel Strip consists of three plug-ins, the EQ 601, the Compressor 260 and the Compressor 276, reproducing the sound characteristics of several classic hardware EQ and compressor devices from the 1970s. Faithfully capturing the analog circuitries of these hardware masterpieces, these plug-ins are also fine-tuned by leading engineers and provide an interface that combines simplicity in operation with exceptional sounding results.

Vintage Stomp Pack

The Vintage Stomp Pack includes several effect plug-ins that exactly reproduce the analog sound of the original vintage guitar effects. Based on the progressive VCM technology, which provides an ultra-realistic sound modeling of the repective hardware image, the Vintage Stomp Pack fascinates by its rich and warm sound and an easy-to-use interface for a straightforward operation.

All plug-ins are available in VST 3, VST 2.4 and AU plug-in format, allowing for multi-instance use with digital audio workstations such as Cubase, Nuendo, WaveLab and Logic.

Those with a legit Cubase 8 and a legit dongle-elicenser,

Will these apps install and run fine,
Or,

This Yamaha package requires the 'r2r -kawa' installed, to work ?

Thx

No, it doesn't require Kawa. You just have to have elicenser driver installed.

Not sure bout 32 bit but the 64 bit has auto installed into prog files/vst plugins
But theyre seperate..Not under a yamaha heading..
Youll see a file for each plugin in that location.....Oh and when installing hit the left icon to procceed to the next step "i say this as the "next" icon is usually on the right when in british so if you do hit the right hand side youll back out instead.....Working fine in fl12.2 win 7 64bit

Cubase 8 x64 - VST3 work with mistakes + presets not switch. VST2 - everything perfectly works + mono plugins appear

Do you see the Presets in VST2??? Cuz I don't see them here inside Studio One. Would love to know if others are seeing the presets. Thanks

2 pointers:

You have to install both versions VST2 and VST3 in order to get it work. 1st I just installed the vst3 version and it asked for license.
It installs the vst2 versions to the default vst2 path, so you have to look at the registry or install SearchEverything to find the dll.
Otherwise is Christmas in March :)

Dont see why youd have to install all different platforms just to get the vst2 to run..
Thats not to say thats not the case with some of you...
Me personally i just deselected all other components apart from 64bit vst2 and it all installed without a problem and its running fine....But i get some systems may not be as friendly as mine appears to be.....

You are lucky then
vst3 didn't want to work upon the vst2 installation

Yeah its probably luck or a fluke my end.....
I been having alot of those lately he he.........
Apologies for me earlier saying bout the 32bit your quite right theres just the 64....
I forget as i dont run much 32 bit stuff so i assumed it was included....

Thats a huge blow for Yamaha/Steinberg.
Didnt see that coming, very surprised it was cracked.
At least we can demo this now without limitations.
Thanks!
Works with legit cubase and e-licencers.
Seems like it was cracked by russian hands.

Well after a quick demo. This can`t compete with Satin.
Maybe on a level of Slate or even less.
Not convinced so far.

I do love satin for that specific effect but im actually quite liking this...
In fact i prefer it to satin but that said its due to the fact that there is more scope as far as i can tell sonically speaking...And is able to get a rougher and much harder tone out of it with a shit ton of low end included...which for me personally i prefer ..
But if i wanted a bit more finesse over grittyness id be runnin satin...

There's also a placebo side, while using uhe products. ..

If Satin was a freeware, made by 'the-happy-broken-devs-team', people would be saying 'oh, it's not bad, but I prefer X plug-in from Y, their product is expensive but at least it is a pro app, for pros like me.'

Like their synth Hive. It's a pure sylenth clone, and it's far from sounding as good as sylenth. But because it's a uhe product, people are OK with paying almost 200 euros for it, and they aren't ashamed of setting such high price for such cheapass clone

Edit: I'm not defending these Yamaha plugins

You clearly haven`t tested and really tried Satin.
That is a bold claim to make.

It's actually possible to get that rought and fat sound in Satin, but I agree with you you can get there quicker with the yamaha. In Satin the trick is to use uhx type 1 in the Compander section (the noise supressor unit), the mix knob in the middle (or aound 10% to the left or to the right to taste, but at hundred % or 0 it's gone). You can play also with uhx type 2 (one on encoder one on decoder), to have different flavours.
You have to do that with auto make up disable, vintage tape and soft clip engaged, input slighly push, just a db or two is enought. Your bass or your sub will get much rougher even without messing with rec and play heads. If you mess with these and say put a NAB on rec and AES 30 on repro, play a bit with the headroom, it gets real nice and thick, then you can play with speed, pre emphasis, bias, etc, to have differents flavors and colors. Then you can mess with the azimuth to get the stereo image fuller, nice trick. All things that you can't do elsewhere in other units.
Satin is really the king when it comes to going deeper and getting the best out of that specific effect, but I agree that other units can fullfill those needs more easilly and with nice results.
