If you subscribe to Composer Cloud for the first time or you lost your libraries, you don't want to loose hours/days of your subscription downloading.
Also, with a good download manager, you'll download faster than the EW App

If you have a slow connexion, you'll spend the first days of your subscriptions downloading all the libraries.
One other solution is buying their hard drive for 100$
It took me 4 days to download everything the first time, I have an ADSL connexion of 16mbits (downloading at ~1.8mbytes/s and sometimes lower)

i have the speculation you maybe wrong

EW made a good implementation of the iLok2 code in the PLAY engine.
most sucessful iLok2 cracked were possible because the dev implemented it in not deep enough. (its comparable with Cubase and their elic)

I agree with the first part of your statement, but not so much the second one. I, of course, hope you're right (it requires a dongle, if I recall correctly). Guess we'll have to wait and see.

u dont need a dongle for it.... u need only a ilok account manager installed so its a chance for some crack....someday....somehow... ehhh to many "some" :D

Note there a big difference between Symphonic Orchestra and Hollywood Orchestra? the second one is a hudge collection of sounds specialy the Diamond collection...If someone can find the trick to by pass the Ilock, it's a big deal 8

Let's say that I pay the monthly fee and download this library. I use it and make a few songs.
What's going on if I stop paying the monthly fee and resign: Do I lose my work/songs?

No, you can stop at any time, you don't loose anything and you don't need to download again the libraries next time, just to update your license.
That's great because you pay only when you need it, for the time you need.
You can pay for say 4 months for a project, then stop and subscribe again 2 months later.
If you subscribe to one year, you have 10% discount.

I'm still puzzled... Basically, even if the lib is on my HD, it will never be truly mine since I will have to pay the cost of the 'monthly rent'. This is similar to all this 'cloud' stuff trend of the last few years.

Even if 30 bucks doesn't look like a lot of money, on the long run it's only good for EWQL from a financial aspect, certainly not for the customer. Or maybe it's good in the case you mentionned where you already know that you will use the lib only for a few months for a specific project.

Unless I missed something?

You have access to 11 000$ software for 30$/mo, so it's good for customer too, if you really use all their software.
If you need only one or two products, better buy them separately.
