At the beginning of this current trend for posting free software (though there are many other sites which provide this service and always include the free developer links) it was mentioned many times by staff that it was encumbant on posters to include the free links from the dev sites in order to support the developers.
This has now seemed to have been abandoned and a free for all has ensued.
Is there any chance we can get some clarification on these points?
And why these original rules seem to have been let go allowing for all this bollox to proliferate here these days?
No offence to Audioz but there are many many sites catering for this free software, I cant see why you have entered into this sector, or at least created a seperate category/section for this..

I agree with contributors agreeing to push back releases but not with setting some rule that nobody else is allowed to release them period not to mention it's completely arbitrary. There are plenty of preset packs that are shared by DISCOVER, MAGNETRiXX, SYNTHiC4TE and plenty of other contributors that don't cost that much, even less than this release. And what amount is the limit? Who decides? What gives those people the right to decide for everyone else what gets released and what doesn't? Then it's naive to think that products that cost more aren't impacted by piracy. When I spoke to Urs he claimed that when Waves was cracked not only Waves but 2 competing companies were severely impacted and almost went out of business. Waves survived but the other companies closed shop. If you knew that were true would you now feel that Waves shouldn't be shared? I think you have some self-contradictory beliefs and to apply them to the public filesharing world and expect others to live by them is arrogant not to mention impossible to implement. Do we now have to all make little lists with price information and have that dictate what is "allowed" to be shared? Give me a break. What you're really demanding is control.
