This looks like a fun project.

Emulating any of Yamaha's great physical modeling engines (the VL series) would be so much more interesting, however. Yamaha have filed numerous patents about physical modeling but what do we have today? Oscillators, filters, EGs and 8-step sequencers. And 12-bit samplers.

This is absolutely fantastic! Well, I hope, I haven't tried it yet. :) Thank you!

Oh well, TX16W disk images can be found easily. Time to start browsing and downloading. However, this total emulation reminded me of how complicated and painful, time consuming it was to make sounds with these racks. On the other hand, sometimes you just need that kind of fun. :) This emulation sounds great!

Reading the manual, however, is a must!

Time to trash my real TX16W?

Wow an emulation of a TX16W! This was my first sampler back in 1993 (the only sampler I could afford back then).. and I hated it with a passion!
Never thought 20 years into the future some clever buggers would be emulating it

Bwhoa... This came to my attention just now by scrolling back into the boards.
Then I checked my mail and found about it thru Sonic Charge's newsletter.

I love Sonic Charge stuff, and I own a license for MicroTonic since 2006: arguably the most flexible, innovative and fun-software drum-machine ever appeared on Earth.

To celebrate we have taken a short break from finalizing (the already late) Synplant 2.0 and created a free plug-in for you. The plug-in is called Cyclone and it will take you back to where everything began. It is a complete TX16W emulator in VST and Audio Unit formats and it does not only look and sound exactly like a real TX16W, it also runs the exact same software: Typhoon 2000.
