Strange Audio DSP maniFold Σ (Micro-Looper) v0.2a VST3 AU WiN MAC [FREE] screenshot
19/05/2025 | VST3 AU WiN MAC | 11 MB
A micro-looper with 8 independent play heads

Each head plays a 5-second audio buffer in real time, with randomized position, length, panning, and playback speed (±12 semitones).

• Buffer visualization with freeze/lock functionality

This allows you to capture and manipulate a specific sonic moment as raw material.

• A complex cluster of 32 delay lines

These are not standard delays — they use all-pass filters. You can set a base delay time and scale it across all 32 lines using a multiplier (delaySpread).

• And the “cherry on top” — recirculationAdding feedback creates dense, evolving textures reminiscent of a lush deep reverb.

I've been playing with this toy the last couple of days. It's defintely worth checking out.
You get the best results when using it with plucked piano/guitar sounds.
Strange Audio GReverb is also worth checking out.

Just like GReverb, this doesn't work for me. I don't understand why their plugins specifically don't work on my machine. I don't have issues with any other plugins (except Line 6 plugins, but that's related to their copy protection).

As I mentioned, I never got GReverb to run either. It crashes my DAW and any host I tried running it in. I still have no idea why. Visual C packages 2013 and 2015-2022 are installed and running fine, and they don't mention any other dependencies. 8th gen i7 with AVX2, so that can't be the problem. Win 10 22H2 19045.5854. Tried in Reaper, Blue Cat's Patchwork, PluginDoctor.

To be clear, you were launching patchwork and plugindoctor as standalone and not in reaper so the platsform can probably be ruled out, right?

Yep, standalone.

I don't know if they use JUCE or iPlug2, but I have many other JUCE and iPlug plugins that are running fine.

I wouldn’t have downloaded this if I hadn’t seen the ‘sigma’ character and the word ‘manifold’, they instantly grabbed my attention.

Honestly, I wouldn’t have even looked at it otherwise. I already have a ton of granular plugins, how often does a new one actually do something that hasn’t already been done a thousand times?

But.. oh boy, I was wrong. This plugin sounds exactly how I’ve always wanted my granular plugins to sound.. Mild, smooth, with incredibly subtle fade-ins and fade-outs.

It’s very washed out, but not in a 'reverb-drenched' way. You know what I mean, not like when you're trying to mask harsh granular spikes with reverb. This is something else. It’s tasteful and intentional.

Kudos to the developer if you’re reading this, when the final version drops, I’ll absolutely pay for it. I love the sound of this plugin.
I can’t say enough how much I liked it.

This is a perfect example of how you can take an old idea, rethink it, and come up with something that feels fresh and truly unique.
